Quoting myself. This basically sounds like that if your card cannot be verified via that whatever service, you'll have to call them and have your information manually updated. You'll probably have to go thru a couple of security questions, etc.

But no, just panic instead its more fun that way.

Well, good luck to you in life if you are going to give up every service completely just because you have to contact their customer service.

This is a winning case if someone wants to file a law suit on this stupid company, how can u change agreements after people have already agreed on something. It's not an agreement anymore.
Whatever you've agreed on may date back to early 2000's. Times have changed, new methods of CC security have been developed and along with all those, CC fraud have increased as well.

SE Customer service blows monkey balls, but this is just an anti-fraud system. No big fucking deal.

Just went to the visa site and it directed me to my banks "cardgaurd". Just adds a user name and pass phrase for online stuff. How they plan to incorporate that into POL though...The whole process is a nice added security measure , pretty simple enough. Though the fact that not all cc companies dont support this would seem like a very bad business decision by SE. Why would you want to alienate the people that keep your company afloat?

gogo useless bullshit instead of just having an agreement like normal subscription companies where you purchase 6 months for 75ish$ at 12.99 per month so if someone was to steal your account they can't run up your bill with server transfers or whatever

Yes it works in the EU, my Visa card is verified with them and prompts me to enter in my passwrod/username stuff everytime I try to buy stuff off of the internet now.

This is what it sounds like honestly. SE is trying to kill off all the brogame spammers and the best way to do it is to force them to actually create bank accuonts instead of stupid giftcards or whatever they're using to do with the free signups.

It's hard enough to constantly bag & tag them off when they keep making new accounts left and right trying to shove gil down our throats for only $25.00 a million.

I was already registered on this already so this has no effect on me whatsoever.

For those paying with debit cards using a Credit Union Company and not a bank, it seems they're compatible with VerifiedbyVisa.

I pay using a debit card through a credit union and the Verified by Visa site said my card was not compatible. Or did you mean that a debit card through a credit union is as good as a Verified by Visa credit card?

Sorry, I was always under the assumption credit unions use some kind partnership model with other unions, at least that's how it seems in military communities. My debit card is through Service Credit Union and it was accepted on the visa site.

Get a credit card, set it up for FFXI, and then physically destroy the card and forget the account number. Now you can't charge it all up.

Just make sure to pay the balance.

It's extra good that the Visa URL won't work.

My platinum mastercard does not appear on the securecode site. awesome.

Does this now lock me into having to do business with only the credit card companies that appear on "the list" if I choose to continue doing business with S-E. . . I'll dump S-E over my card companies if they decide to enforce retroactive.

I use a Shazam Chek debit card through Mastercard supplied by my bank, but unfortunately my bank is a small branch that isn't listed on Mastercard's Securecode list. As it stands if this does affect those that are already playing but won't need to update their pay info (my card's good till 2013), then I'm either contacting SE's info center or I'm screwed.
