PS3 RPG selection is absolutely pathetic right now. I think just about anything would be a welcome addition. I didn't really like SO3 because of the battle system (I just couldn't do it; would always get raped by robot mobs or mermaids), and I would probably still get SO4 on PS3....

But seriously, I can absolutely not express my disgust at paying almost $65 for this turd enough.

Yes, the battle system is good, maybe even great, but everything else sucks. EVERYTHING. The characters are almost completely unlikable, the save system is incredibly unforgiving, there's a sickly weird shine to a lot of the outside areas that not only looked awful but gave me eyestrain (like staring at the sunlight refection on a pool at high noon), but I digress.

I've played every other Star Ocean in the series and this was by far the worst. I'm telling you, if you absolutely must play it, rent it first.

Just hope for that PS3 version of Vesperia. That is worth waiting for.

Star Ocean 3, the gameplay was zzz but the story was at least half decent.

I agree, PS3's RPG selection is dick at the moment, which sucks because the only reason I own a PS and a PS2 were because of the RPG selections, and the reason I still play them to this day. It's also the reason I don't own a fucking PS3 at the moment.

I have to kinda disagree there. LO, ToV (although PS3 might get that here eventually) Fable 2, Mass Effect (number 2 on the way), Culdecept Saga and Spectral Force 3 were all very enjoyable to me. There's more too if you add multiplat titles.

Are you serious? Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect, Fable, Last Remenant, Fallout?

Blue Dragon and Infinite Undiscovery weren't the best games but they were respectable as well.

PS3 has.... yeah.

I'm not saying 360's is the best, but I've had a reason to buy a 360, that's why I have one. I never bought a PS2 because of anything but RPGs, and as long as most big name titles are shared between 360 and PS3, there's no reason for me to buy one until they give me a reason to. (RPGs)

This is pretty spot on. This is coming from someone who actually doesn't mind annoying characters like, Elena from Grandia 2, or Polka from Eternal Sonata, but when you have a mute a game because of characters, it says ALOT.

I would have muted Polka...I should have muted Polka, Salsa, Beat... infact mostly everyone except a few characters.

SO4 is a good game, the battle system is fun, there's a lot to do and IC is still as good as ever. If you go into the game knowing that the story and characters are going to be shit, you won't be disappointed by anything and you might actually like some parts...maybe.

Recently I had given up on RPGs having good stories until I played LO (late, I know), now I remembered what a story needed to have to be interesting.

But seriously, the actual RPG's on PS3 right now are pretty good, although I didn't like Enchanted Arms. However Valkyria Chronicles is a brilliant game, I enjoyed Folklore aswell, I hear good things about Disgaea 3 also. Cross Edge I heard wasn't too great. If you want to mention multiplat then there is Eternal Sonata, Fallout, Oblivion, Sacred 2 etc. To say either of the consoles has "no RPGs" is silly. Both have their gems, but sure, more would be nice.

If SO4 comes to the PS3 that's great, if not oh well, there are some nice RPGs coming out for PS3 that will have me occupied anyway, Demon's Souls and White Knight Chronicles to name a few (and I guess FF13 and versus too).

I hate Sarah far more than Lymle (in terms of story/cutscenes), but that isn't saying much since they both suck. At least Sarah is useful in a fight though.
