I hated all of those dumb bitches, seriously they couldn't have had more annoying personalities. They just about got every possible annoying female personality archetype and then managed to make enough cutscenes were you hated everything by the end of them.

And the males weren't any better, they were all straight out of a 12 year olds fanboy guide on how to make a shitty one dimensional emo character, about the only people I didn't hate every time they appeared were Bacchus and the chick who was the same race as him.

Unfortunately, it really is super fun to play (imo), just turn off voices in battle or you'll drive yourself up the fucking wall, it's already annoying enough as is.

Yeah, this one is pretty bad too, but at least the voice isn't as bad. The scene is just as, if not more awkward though.

Yeah, Bacchus, Myuria and Arumat weren't annoying at all (Arumat because he hardly speaks), but I reckon the annoying archtype thing is just way too common in anything Japanese. It's like there's a list of characters that Japanese people can choose from and not choosing them is a crime of some sort.

Did the 360 version have dual audio tracks? I need a new RPG myself for the PS3, and I'd rather listen to crap in a language I can't understand and can ignore more easily, than crap I most certainly can understand, and sit there jamming the X button to procede through voice-clips.

For SO3, I just hated my dumbass AI always running into AoE attacks during boss fights, always had to set them to manual control and have them keep distance. I also wasn't fond the pressure-sensitive button controls.

The best part about this game is that when skipping the remainder of a cutscene after being 20 minutes in and just being tired of the retarded dialogue... it gives you a brief written synopsis of what you skipped, instead of being totally in the dark.

That's the least they could do since you CAN'T FUCKING PAUSE THE DAMN CUTSCENES. Seriously, it's 2009, can we please make all cutscenes in all games pausable? I hated that, especially since a lot of the cutscenes can easily run 20-30mins long.

Most recently is Myuria being fucking retarded casting Ice Needles instead of healing. Still, I'm with you on SO3's battle system, I liked the AAA system and even MP death (when you actually get characters that do MP damage).

I'm playing SO1 on PSP right now and am absolutely loving it. I really like the voice acting in it, and the dialog is great. Some of the PAs had me laughing my ass off.

Thing is, many people still loved SO3 character/story, but people unanimously say SO4 story suck.

Too bad for you if you couldn't enjoy SO3, story, but there is still a ton of people who liked it. So yes, there is a worthwhile story.

What? Except for beginning parts where you're forced to use certain characters at some times you can use who you want all the time without needing to switch (unless your party dies - a feature I like a lot).

Arumat, Meracle, Reimi and Sarah are the only party you'll ever need, if you want to use other characters that's up to you. Bacchus is great for the money making trick.

SO3 had a good story (forgetting lolplottwist) and the end result was fine. The character's were mostly shitty but what can you do?

HA, first thing I've legitimately laughed at in a while.

But yeah, arumat is really all you need, just chain the shit out of his dragon attack; scythes ftw anyway, why aren't they more prevalent in video games?

I liked the whole package with SO3.
Characters, story (even the plot twist, maybe because I wasn't so attached to the other games, the execution wasn't so great but I loved the idea), battle system, music, graphic presentation.
Even the voice acting wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Nel, Maria, Fayt, Cliff, Mirage and Albel weren't too bad. I don't have experience with the other characters aside from Peppita (who I will admit was terrible).

In my personal opinion, Star Ocean 3 was the best in the series.
