i don't use Vista right now but this should work

use the dos prompt and run the corresponding batch file for your version

open port 3389 on the firewall - unless you change the listening port, open that one then

I used to log in to ffxi from work using LogMeIn.
Remoting isnt spectacular but LogMeIn is free and gets the job done.

Seconding logmein, it's easy to set up and doesn't require you to compromise any particular TCP ports since the logmein client negotiates with NAT firewalls directly, and authenticates with its own user account so there's no compromising your logon/pass.

I love LogMeIn, also because they have a wonderful (although expensive) remote app for my iPhone also.
