Gilgamesh bound![Server Tour]

So it's been a couple monthes probably since I'd posted in the old Standard stating I'd hop server to server. Long story short, my PC died, then my router broke so I couldn't use my PS2 and so I've been kind of stuck on a bad PC and unable to play much since I visited Unicorn.

With that out of the way though, I'm now using my crap PC to continue my server surfing, unfortunately all my pictures from Unicorn as Bigcomfycouch are stuck offline on my PS2, so I'll have to post those at a later date.(Thank you Falisa,Whytemike(learn to spell White!) & Sai for having me.)

So far on Gilgamesh, I've leveled up my WHM with my auto-name generated name of awesome; Tumblingkitten and decided that with my limited schedule, I need to get access to campaign ops for an income and free exp without risking lag and such in battle. So I hit level 10 for the starter-quest line, and got my free reraise earring and 3 chocobo tickets to speed things up.

I had to go get my red recommendation letter first, so I walked to Sauro from Batallia and accidentally ended up falling off the cliff going for Sauro maw, somehow managing to get all the way to Saruta Maw along the way, then changing to lvl 1 THF to save the exp loss for the other leg from Batallia_S to Ronfaure_S.

I'm pretty sure I'd caught a lucky break all the way through Vunkerl, that place could have been hell, but I did it right to the zoneline.. where Firaga III from an orc proceeded to eat me. I died right in the middle of 4 orc. Though I had reraise up, I was guaranteed to die instantly, then a pixie cast R3 on me. I immediately RR'd before it finished, aggro'd all the orcs, died instantly, finished casting raise3, reraised again and ran for it before they reset to aggro mode again. Lucky as hell, but it got me there alone and it was a proud moment.

I used my 1 prism powder that I managed to afford to get down past that first orc tower into Jugner and then I just hugged the shores and got lucky. Ronfaure_S was a breeze, aside walking dead into a djinn and using perfect dodge while I ran for the zoneline. So that was where I retired for the night after becoming a Iron Ram. Hoping to explore more around here. You might see me in campaign as lvl 13 just for fun in the future, or running around collecting suspicious objects.

I've met 4 people so far on this server. Imitarate/Eirenne/Norellicus from Bluegartr(all frequent IRC, so it was nice to finally meet!) and somebody named Rya who liked my name(thanks for being the first to talk to me lol), I'll be here for a couple weeks and probably stay through Summer fest just to meet people through the event. This server is heavier JP then any other I've visited, so I'm probably going to have to break out LogMon.

This is kind of a cool idea but if it's just a travel/adventure log it's not so fun. If you're going to visit all the servers you should also post quirks about them vs other servers and stuff like that. For example most servers have their bazaarfest in rolanberry, but I know some other servers have it in sauro/batallia. I would like to see stuff like that I'll never make characters on other servers, but I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live somewhere other than Siren, where our besieged and ballista records are only overshadowed by the amount of individual moron players we house (just check the cross server warning section if you wonder what I'm talking about).

I've picked up quite a few noticable differences, I'll include it for sure.

What I wrote-up was pretty much just because I forgot to take some extra screen shots and wanted to get the word out there[without much thought of WHERE to post this anymore with my original thread buried.]

This is my 6th Server; Quetzacoatl, Garuda, Fairy, Unicorn, Gilgamesh, Asura('home')

However, I don't feel like I got a really good visit of a couple of those, and they were outside of the travel goals. So I'm probably going to revisit most. At the moment, I'm just trying to figure out how much time I should commit to each server, as time is something I don't have much of, and hitting every server will be a long trip.

Barring Odin & Bahamut due to lock, I'll try my best to hit places that I know the population will at least provide some good company cause it's a little boring if I'm just alone not making new friends.

Gilgamesh so far has offered a couple short conversations with passerby as I level up, and I'm upto 4 BG users met and 3 strangers. I'm finding it a little harder to strike up conversation here then elsewhere at night because it seems the JP population is rather large.(Asura has pretty much a non existant JP community on the grand scale so this is a change, even compared to other server as well like Unicorn.)

I'm using allied notes, city quests and crafting materials I'm leveling up off and selling for gil scraps at the moment, probably do some silk since it holds true to every server.

(Lakshmi, Phoenix, and Ragnarok are on my list at the moment to visit).

Also, if you see someone named "Mots" (the french word for... "words"), just know, he's totally American and doesn't speak any French, kinda like the JP guy named "Thatwasfunny" who doesn't speak any English at all.

I havn't been on gilgamesh that long but i can't say that Gilgamesh is JP heavy compare to other server, but gilgamesh is french heavy, i can't get any pt without at least 1 french :O

I found your bazaar market! Lower Jeuno moghouse seems like a weird place to me, but I guess it makes a little more sense then some of the other locations.

I'm ready for my sub job today and debating trying to find my way to Whitegate since besieged doesn't penalize exp for low levels like campaign. Though on my way back to Sandy_S to continue the level grind I decided to stick around and help take down Softstep, I figured I'd save AN by bloodporting with tags, but I ended up surviving the whole fight, even landing a 1 DMG Banish on the NM one time.

I mostly sat around curing and trying to spark up conversation, nobody bit though, so I charged into fight to see if that got attention.

I'll try this again once I get Cure III perhaps. Right now I need to save my AN for traveling though, it's the easiest way for a lowbie to get to Jeuno and the cardinal cities, plus some good leveling spots.

Still LS hunting, probably have to hit up the dunes just to find a social though!
