PUP INT builds:
What's best, barring augments?
Mm... I don't remember if there WAS a cap. I think when the tests were done on Alla they said there wasn't a correlation to HOW much above INT you had to be compared to being low vs high above INT of Automaton. Nevertheless, I am paranoid and stack it on since I really only use SR when I don't melee
For INT builds, the testing on ZAM showed that all you need is +3 INT over your automaton to cap the burden reduction, which should be 79 with SR/Harle (70) + AF maneuvers (6). That's really easy to reach with a few pieces of errant and NQ accessories.
Edit: I think this was the thread - http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.h...67879211022569
The key here is to have more INT than your automaton when you use an Ice Maneuver. With no Maneuvers, the INT of the automaton (spiritreaver) is 70, and with all three Ice Maneuvers with PUP AF hands is 76. In general, you want your INT to be 75 or higher.
How much +INT it will take to hit that depends on your SJ and your race. Judge accordingly. Remember, you want to be at 75 or higher when you use an Ice Maneuver.
Out of principle I stack INT as high as I can, in case I used absorb-INT. Plus, there's essentially zero cost to swapping more in spellcast anyway, so I don't see a reason not to.
I have never ever had to stack any INT to avoid overloads (Pup.Dastanas+1 & Buffoon's Collar+1) with a Soulreaver nuking pattern of:
ice ice ice
nuke
deactivate
activate
nuke
water ice ice ice
nuke
deactivate
activate
nuke
etc...
Just did Wyrm KS99 today and 600ish low-power nukes and usually like 1100 dmg high-power nukes on a regular basis. The only Pet: M.Acc/MAB pieces I have are Mirke Wardecors, Pantin Churidars, and Brocade Obi (+2 M.Acc). Random augments can go to hell, also, so can getting Hi-Potions instead.
What is it with all the new standard threads of late.....Too many elitists and not everyone will be able to live up to what someone thinks is best.
Besides lolpup
Far behind but better than nothing.
258 H2H skill is 34 base damage before adding the weapon damage
Fully merited Mnks with 292 skill have 35 Base damage. Even with faith torque they are 1 skill short of breaking into the next damage tier.
Also remember that +10 H2H skill on those Oberon's Sainti adds +10 attack and 9 Accuracy. Even though Wagh's have more attack, and higher damage, you gain more acc with those +10 Oberon's Santi and you get those stats no matter what level your TP is. Also, the weapon rank of Wagh's is calculated by it's non latent damage which makes for a lower fstr cap.
Clearly... Pet: ATT/ACC when you pet is over 100% TP... and full usukane other times.
I'm sorry faithe, but your posts just make me wonder if you even know how to play the job at 75 in endgame. How you haven't figured out that the SR can compare with blms is beyond me, and to go as far as saying that it is far below them is just ignorant. I'm a career blm from 2003 and I choose pup over blm for 99% of anything now.
Why do PUPs keep comparing their hate-free nukes to BLM ones?
BLM clearly isn't the premier hate-free damage job, we all know that.
You need to compare that aspect with SMN(Bloodpacts) and BLU(Regurgitation).
You can throw SCH in the mix if you want, since helix spells generate very little enmity compared to their damage potential (not against everything, though), but if we talk about spike damage then this comparison is invalid.
i have a question. How many pups even have every attachment? the really rare ones from stuff like the ashu talif are almost never on the ah, and not a single pup i know (even the really good ones) has every single one![]()
I have them all. Just find yourself a good group of friends and do the ashu talif missions. They aren't that hard, especially now with the amount of strats out for the fights. And once all your pups that need them get them, can start selling any extras for profit. Did this with some friends about 1-2 years ago. Made decent gil after me and a friend got our attachments too. (0/A TON on Barbarosa Zereh's though ><)
I would think that the 21 DMG of the shens would beat out the next tier h2h and maybe +16 DMG of the Oberon's...no?
