i have a question. How many pups even have every attachment? the really rare ones from stuff like the ashu talif are almost never on the ah, and not a single pup i know (even the really good ones) has every single one

I have them all. been playing PUP since its day of release and i have worked my ass off to obtain every attachment (Back when Tier II attachments were only available off Hilltroll puppetmasters in Mount Z I merited there -every day- and begged for the drops. I've done ashu talif after ashu talif and purchased every piece i couldn't get.. and mgod im glad i finally finished with that damn ENM60)

Also, Shenlongs will still beat out Oberon's

21 base damage is just stupid. unless you get a 10+ H2H skill Oberon with +6 base damage, Shenlongs wins. 3 base str, double attack+1, and Subtle blow are icing on top of an extremely sexy, sexy piece of cake that i would rape like a fat kid in fat camp.

Like Kleiner, I've been PUP since the beginning. It's been a long, tiring journey from a horribly gimped job to now a powerful force...in the right hands. Getting all the attachments when they came out was a trial and then the whole 60 ENM fiasco didn't help. Getting the attuner and target marker especially was very difficult (but profitable). PUPs have it easier today at getting attachments though. Just go spam Ashu Talif, the 60 ENMs, and OB and you should have all the necessary ones in a decent amount of time.

True. I just reacquired my mirke with pet magic accuracy and mab after not seeing any huge difference with the accuracy bonus. Now for some more oberon sainti luck and the sexy moogle helm!

Just curious, aside from Usukane, what gear do most people look forward to? I have my sets and can post them. Also, anyone tried /DRG for wyvern earring?

Nyzul, Assault, and Salvage come to mind.

With my old Nyzul group I usually had my friend go PUP cause we would get puddings a lot and it worked out really well.

Yeah, PUP can be really good in nyzul if its played right. Just need to not be stupid and roll BLM auto when popping BR ramparts (Though PUP blows at ramparts, deploy timer etc etc). Other puddings and QAs though PUP can function very well on, along with bosses

Its the best DPS wepaon, Including Ken. Ken just gets other shiney features to make it better, like overload. (This is under the assumption you're not going to be able to keep up 300 tp full time but just used it as a reg weapon, going at 100)

They're also R/EX, meaning you'd have to be present at a kill, significantly limiting opportunity for purchase.

ah i wasnt aware of that..

but i guess Ken. can potentially skew up DPS significantly past what Shenlong can do, considering the Aftermath works for both master and pet... assuming we are including pet DPS into the 'DPS scenario' (and theres no reason not to)

anyway the value of Ken. lies in its maneuver suppression.. anything above that is just cherry on the pie

PW isn't as unsurmountable a challenge as AV. When more people realise this.. there will no doubt be a surge in its drops.

I've been trying PUP/DRG and PUP/WAR out lately and while /DRG has its benefits, I find my total DoT and WS damage is higher with /WAR. Survivability is about the same. With the mog hat, I think its very easy to have a decent meat build for PUP, or even a better pizza build (still figuring this one out - loss of STR bonus + more attack vs, 10% accuracy? I'm leaning more toward the pizza to ensure my hits always land but I'm looking for feedback).

No, full usu is like 65% accuracy on lolbirds w/o food. When I had sushi it was 90+% so with 2 torreador and hollow you should cap. With Hades sainti +1, hollow and relic belt you'd have 351 accuracy total. With A torque you could pump it to 355. Pizza would then would pump that to to ~390 accuracy. You are missing ~ 10 accuracy to be safe on birds (also pizza is not great here ..) and ~ 30 accuracy at MMJ camps.

The increase to the DoT from the puppet meleeing is going to be very minor, and The Kink's aftermath adds nothing to M.Acc/M.Atk. Of course, you'll be able to spam ice maneuvers till the cows come home, but if we're just talking about the aftermath the effect is pretty minimal.

Something else that could be a huge benefit to PUP would be the ability to quick switch attachments. Like when I switch frames, either auto-equip the last attachment setup or allow me to macro adding attachments, etc.

Something like this would allow the job to truly showcase it's versatility.
