Autorun was hard to do? How is it any harder to place your right hand on the numpad while your left hand typed than it is to type with your right hand while your left hand held an analog.

You don't navigate macros, you hit macros.

That's the main and operative difference between lame controller and superior keyboard. I don't press left and right however many times to get to the button so I can press it.

That doesn't really matter... FFXI is slow as shit, you can get to the next macro you need to hit before you actually need to hit it regardless of whether or not you "navigate" the shit because every action has a lame-ass delay.
