The Luck of the Fryish is even better imo. And to say it like its an 'either/or' situation doesn't do justice to them... both of those eps (and most of the other dramatic episodes) are actually full of some great lines. People just forget them because by the end of the show the drama element of the story has taken a front seat. You really got to watch some of the drama episodes a couple times to get the most out of them (this is true for most episodes actually considering the writer's tendency to have plenty of hidden/deeper meaning jokes scattered about, but that's besides the point).

On the topic of family guy... like many others I've only seen a couple of the episodes after it was brought back. I don't necessarily hate all of the new episodes, they have their moments, but I feel they've let their characters motivations stray too far from what made them great to start (best example: compare Stewie in the early episodes to the later ones, lol). They are basically different characters now, which makes it a different show as far as I'm concerned.

Early southpark is what made me fall in love with it. But the way they've drastically changed the animation and made the plots alot more complicated just cracks me up even more.

No, if I remember correctly Comedy Central were the ones paying Fox to create new episodes for Futurama. Comedy Central didn't have the kind of cash that was required to do the episodes, so in order to save money, they reduced the witting staff and wanted the Voice Actors to accept less money. CC already spent an enormous amount of cash for the syndication rights to Futurama which was quoted as the "largest purchase" in their company's history, so they were just trying to shave some money off the costs.

Fox already has a lot of their own cash to spend being that they are on network television as opposed to cable (Some areas don't get Comedy Central). I mean they can throw $400,000/episode for each character of the main cast of the Simpsons so that's over 22 Million for those 4 VA's over the course of one season. Seth getting $100 million over 3 years isn't that surprising to me. I find it more ironic since FG was canceled a few years back for various reasons including big name sponsors being pulled if FG wasn't taken off the air.

Minus the Star Wars stuff I rarely go out of my way to watch Family Guy(found the first one to be amazing honestly, hope the 2nd stays the same). I've already accepted the fact that it's pretty much nothing but random skits every 30 seconds, and while some are still funny, the character's have gotten more dull as previously mentioned. Taking Cleveland out and putting him in a shitty show was beyond dumb, I stopped watching the Cleveland Show when they had that "It's Just Like a Mini Mall" skit going for far too long.

I like it a little less than the first one, only because too many cultural references are all over it (there were much less in the first).

The story in this one is better though since there are more characters.

Could this Abortion episode be any worse than the clip of Peter's mom getting an "abortion" in mexico by kids that beat her stomach with pinata sticks and he accidently came out? lol

If I remember correctly, the episode is kind of like the movie Baby Mama, where Lois has an old friend who cannot conceive a child, and she decides to be the surrogate mother and carry the child. But when her friend dies, she no longer wants to carry the baby and decides to have an abortion. That's actually not as bad as it sounds due to the circumstances of the story itself.

Episode with Frys dog was probably the only cartoon i've ever watched and actually felt twinges of sadness and tearing up. That episode was just downright fucking amazingly well done. And it had quite a few laughs in it too.

Watched the 2nd Star Wars special last night (thanks for the link). Although I wish there were more Star Wars and even Family Guy canon related jokes than social commentaries and references I did enjoy it quite a bit. I thought who they "cast" for Lando was pretty strange, guess they were running outta people. Same with Yoda. Felt like most of the golden bits were in the trailer sadly. Enjoyed the ending about Seth Green a lot though lol.

    Jeez, enough gay jokes?

At any rate, what character was portraying Yoda? Never seen him before (probably my fault for basically having ignored the last two seasons of FG). Figured they'd use someone more recognizable, like perhaps Peter's father (the catholic one), or Mr.Weed.

Had to say the special made me nostalgic for some Star Wars. Guess it's time to boot-up the GameCube and play some Rogue Leader.....

somewhat related to my OP; tonight's episode had a joke where peter said he would plow chris in the ass later that night. Homosexual incest is fine, Yet abortion is a no-no. Shit's gone down the tubes.

It's funny they can't air this however they don't mind a high schooler leaving her just born baby in a dumpster. If you're not sure what I'm talking about search for "Prom night dumpster baby" on youtube.

Either way I don't care since this show has been hitting rock bottom ever since it came back on the air. Still amazing how many people are eating it up and consider it a smash.
