Obama is drinking the swill because this is what the majority of Americans drink. Sure, he could have had a nice micro-brew from a non-corporate brewery (Oregon has some very nice ones). However, the swill is keeping him in touch with the majority and isn't making him look to be a beer snob. Also, can you imagine the uproar if he drank a quality Belgian beer?

Well, imports I was being facetious about (although I don't see the big deal, despite knowing why they'd complain), however I don't see microbrews as a bad thing. I mean, it's still an American, home grown beer whether its from Deschutes or Budweiser.
