Ok first I would like to say, I am not trying to scam people into giving me information about ways an RMT can get around the new security features. Also if I posted in the wrong section I am sorry, I generally do not post much on BG, normally just read.

Basically here is a my situation. I currently do not have a debit or credit card on my bank account. But to get around this, I use prepaids issued by my bank. Currently, my bank does not support mastercard securecode, nor has it ever heard of it. I have 50 dollars left on my account, about 3 months worth, and I need to find a new card that is used by securecode or the verifiedbyvis. Because of my situation, I can not obtain a debit card through my bank. Short of finding a new bank, I am screwed.

My question, has anyone found a prepaid card service that uses securecode, or the visa version of that? I would like to be able to continue playing in 3 months, and I know that many others are in the SAME boat I am in, or are desperately searching for ways their best friend can still play.

Again I would like to say I AM NOT TROLLING OR AN RMT. I simply would like to be able to continue playing without having to go through drastic steps such as getting a new bank account just to continue playing. I am sure there are others searching for the same thing as well.

get a PS2 version of FFXI or 360 and update your payment there

I also would not want to spend 300+dollars for the xbox 360, or find an old fat ps2 with the hard drive on ebay that may or may not work...

Umm. Is there no way your bank can add more money onto the prepaid card for you as a special case? I'm not sure how those work because I've never used them, but I assume it cannot be impossible to add money to any kind of card. (Prepaid cards are rather like gift cards I think, so in theory you should be able to add more money to them). If it's possible, you wouldn't have to change the card number in POL and you would be safe for as long as they will let you keep adding.

However something tells me it doesn't work that way, in which case I would say try to find a friend who has a PS2 or Xbox360 with FFXI on it and update there >.>;

Perhaps we could set up a buddy system on BG for people who need to upgrade their info! BG PS2/360 users could offer to update the person's info for them!
Might even revive the ailing drama llama around here!

I know there are some that have verified by visa on them, or did at one point, but I have no clue what those were. Its been a while since I used the pay by month rechargeable cards. Now I just take out about 100 dollars every 9 months and put it on a prepaid and it will last for 9 months. And no the bank wont add money to it. Otherwise that would make it basically into a debit card. Ill check into greendot and see if they are a verified by visa brand.

Funny, I talked with western union...yeah they were about as useless as outsourced techsuppo...OH WAIT IT WAS OUTSOURCED!!!

Actuallly I called their main branch, they told me to call their prepaid branch...and the prepaid branch told me to call the main branch. So I decided to not spin in circles for that one...

Get a friend that has a PS2 or 360 do update your card info for you. Could even be someone in your LS you trust not to go out and spend your prepaid cards.

Not 100% this works but you could also get an ISO of the PS2 pol disc and run a PS2 emulator to use PS2 POL.

Also, are you in the US? Out of the top of my head I know at least 5 banks in my area that offer free checking. Maybe pick up a phone book and call banks till you find one? I would have to try pretty hard or have some kind of lawsuit or be an illegal alien to not be able to just walk somewhere around here and get another free checkings card.

For anyone considering using a friend's 360 to update their CC info, don't forget that you need to *permanently* link your POL ID to a Gamertag...and this can't be undone. So don't link your FFXI account with a friend's gamertag if you're going to regret it later.
