Supply and Demand. Kinda hard to fuck that up. Solid question though.
But feel free to show me how government intervention hasen't just created more problems or mildly remedy issues they created to begin with.
You laugh, but your faith is just as bad as mine in this case.
England, Canada, France, Germany, etc's interventions in this particular area seem to have worked pretty damn well.
and Medicare itself in the US has been a successful program.
Is that why its going to be bankrupt in a few years?
Guess what, they don't have the debt or the financial issues we do.England, Canada, France, Germany, etc's interventions in this particular area seem to have worked pretty damn well.
I hear its working out for Russia as well.
Edit: Lol @ Germany. Yes lets emulate a country banning paintball. Wonder how long before they have a relapse.
so you're comparing strict gun regulations to a path towards Nazism.
and you wonder why no one takes you seriously?
Medicare, like Social Security, isn't going "bankrupt in a few years". Enough with the conservative alarmist rhetoric pretending we lack the financial capacity to do anything whatsoever.
What conclusion did you draw from that move than? Are you actually agreeing with their decision?
You're one to talk about being taken seriously if this is the case.
Quit with the liberal government-is-the-answer-can-do-no-wrong-anyone-who-dosn't-agree-with-me-is-fear-mongering-pro-bush-neocon rhetoric.
Oh shit, I can do that too!
Medicare along with SS is still going broke. You calling someone a fear monger doesn't change this. Nice try though.
Go lookup the Canadian debt during Mulroney. The reason our debt was low before the recession was because Martin and Chretien made some really hard decisions and stuck by them during the 90s and early 2000s. Harper fucked us big time lowering the GST right before the recession, we're currently about to wipe out all the gains Martin made.
I know it's not a massive number like the US, but compared to GDP it's a big deal for us.
the social sec/medicare alarmism is just that; realistic estimates give us another 50 years before the programs "go bankrupt" and by that time guess what: no more baby boomers and we'll be able to stabilize based on our current 2.2-5 birthrate.
being in debt (because of Reagan and Bush) is no excuse to not do necessary things to save lives and improve quality of life for Americans. Healthcare could run a 1 trillion debt over the first 10-15years? at this point, you can almost say "so what?" Agreeing with Olo: if we can manage to end our fuckups abroad and fucked up tax code at home, we can start paying down our debts.
Think Bernie Sanders.
and by all means keep insisting that Medicare is waste. In fact I'd have no problem at all if the GOP started using that as a sticking point. Would love nothing more then to see you guys in the minority. Platform on getting rid of Social security while you're at it as well.
Misinformation is still this riffe?
what misinformation, kuya? didn't you know that in just a few years, medicare will be bankrupt?
have you heard of peter schiff btw?
how about ron paul?
If medicare is working so well, then what does this mean. North Carolina had to pass a law preventing any more hospitals from being built that didn't accept medicare because they were going to put the ones that did accept medicare out of business. It's not a good sign when the government has to pass laws restricting the free market from working in order to protect something.
Do you have any current sources? all those Editorial where based off a 2004 report. So really they only count as one source.

medicare deducts 98 dollars from social security checks (for most people, it depends on past income) another $200-$300 is necessary to fill the gaps in coverage with Medigap J or G would be the most comprehensive from various insurance companies and seniors still complain about finding doctors and hospitals to accept it. Not to mention the funding though federal and state levels. Those who can't afford decent medigap coverages, end up forfeiting their estates if medical bills pile up. I can go on with everything that's wrong about it, but suffice to say, successful isn't a right word, Beckwin.
