Hey Mcfly, While they don't directly tell them what they can or cant do they tell them what they will pay for which is the same fucking result.
Same shit Einstein.
CAHI is "an association of small and mid-sized insurance companies, actuarial firms, legislative consultants, physicians and insurance agents," its website states.
You asked if CAHI was wrong. I said no, they're deliberately biased and misleading because of the business interests they represent (iow they're a front group).
You do have that right. You're telling me it's a privilege to be healed when you're sick? To have access to the latest in science to help you in times of bad health?
But it's a right to be protected by police and a military, which forces responsibility on someone else, to protect us from the worst in human nature.
You really ought to stop regurgitating what you hear on talk radio and actually read about some of the concepts you're so vehemently against yet have an iota of understanding about.
No this is an established fact, not a scare tactic. A scare tactic is the right wing raising the terror threat code so a liberal or dem loses an election.
You're a bit emotional on the topic because you have no hard evidence to refute what he says, only your blind belief in what you're told to think on the issue. Sup fucking idiot.
What about my right to not involuntarily work for someone else's benefit? If someone has the right to health care you're forcing someone else against their will to pay for it. I wonder what the definition of slavery is.
And unless their data is wrong being a front group doesn't matter.
Incidentally, if you don't think paying a private organization that rules over your healthcare decisions with an iron fist and makes life or death decisions based on profit margins and not, well, to be frank - life or death , then you my friend have been drinking some very tasty kool-aid.
This is how private insurance companies work. They have a list of customers who pay a monthly fee. If one is injured, the money others opted in pays for that customer. You may never get sick or need that money but you still pay.
What's the difference between private and public? Public plans don't make decisions and pinch pennies based on their stock value, they help anyone and everyone regardless. Cost is also driven down because a public option benefits all, private benefits the few so prices go up. This is called supply and demand. You as a free market enthusiast should understand this.
This is called compassion, you are defending greed.
You really do not have an understanding of how this system works and I pity you more than I could be angry with you.
And if I didn't like the way private insurance works I don't have to pay for it. Problem solved. And I would rather have a company subject to the profit motive than nothing at all like the government. When was the last time the post office broke even? How much money has been sunk into Amtrak? How bad was Walter Reed run? Wonder if F. Mac/F. Mae would have fucked up so bad if they thought they could go bankrupt. Until the government has to earn it's money and can't just take it, will will never work.
Edit: The post office lost 2.8 billion last year and is scheduled to lose 6 billion this year, yet UPS and FedEx are doing fine.
If you're so convinced that people will choose Private insurance over Public whats the problem you're having here again?
Swamp, just stop right there. I've tried to explain this to them for the past 4 pages, and it's not going through. Somewhere in their universe doctors are volunteers for the betterment of society and people who work for money and make decisions for money are automatically corrupt.
People won't choose private over public. I'd be willing to bet a decent chunk of change that business will stop providing health insurance once the public option is available. (Cuts costs for them.) And then other things in that bill are just insane which will drive people to the public option.
And of course I care about the uninsured. I just don't think taking over 15% of the economy is the right way to do it when the government can't deliver the fucking mail after 200+ years.
Then you would have to pay exorbitant amounts of money at the hospital or a physician for one visit. Sounds fair to me, not being robbed at all. You traded one problem for another, you didn't solve anything.
You're also ignoring the other things your income tax pays for. Are you against our social police force, libraries, transit authority, firefighters, military, etc? Do you feel like you could get along fine with those services private and if you don't want it you "don't have to pay for it?"
You threw out a few bad examples ( which ironically enough all of those instances were mis-managed under conservative watch ) and ignored everything else you obviously take for granted that the "gumment" didn't screw up. It's easier to point at a tiny hole in the wall and not mention that the wall is still there and standing and very, very big.
Scroll up and you'll see the answers to your middle paragraph. And I doubt we would be paying exorbitant fees if all government interference was eliminated.
And why do you think that is swampy? You like using the post office example a lot. Obviously there is a niche there the Post office isn't there to make a profit and is relatively cheap yet people still choose Private over public. and what exactly are these Insane things you speak off.
Please Don't say Advance end of life consultation because you would automatically lose all credibility.
I didn't realize I had any on this board, I'll look them up and edit this post. And it would seem by now the post office would have found a way to try and break even, not get worse. I mean wtf.
