Decriminalized, and MA only has "free" health-care if you make below poverty level, and then from a sliding scale up until 300% of poverty level, where you're not eligible.

Wait, are you suggesting people will move to different states based on that State's Health Care?

In a debate about 10-15 pages ago I speculated that if we based healthcare policy under the libertarian notion of State vs Federal, where the states determine a public option or not instead of the federal government, that people would migrate from a state that has all private to states that have public option.

I presented a scenario that doesn't exist against a scenario that doesn't exist so it's a theoretical debate hypothesizing the outcome of what Sirrus preferred over a gumment public option.

Later tomorrow, President Obama will address Congress about health care reform. We don't know what he'll say yet, but we know that a strong public option is in danger - Obama's considering a "trigger" to avoid ever implementing a public option.

Max Baucus, the Senate "Democrat" holding up health care reform for the insurance industry, came out with his plan over the weekend. Frankly, it's garbage - no public option, just regional "co-ops" designed to fatten the pockets of the insurance industry.

So it's up to us to make sure we pass real health care reform with a strong public option. We need to show our resolve to members of Congress by signing this petition.

I guess the other thing I wanted to talk about Fin, was about you bringing up the failing of states.

It's all relative, if the states are in a union and one state fails then what happens? Other states either join up to help the failed state as a union, or divide and conquer the now free territory.

Since we are already a collective union every state is already vested in ensuring the federal government succeeds ( or should be ).

In a state power scenario you have nutbags like Sarah Palin and Rick Perry supporting right-wing secessionist militias doesn't really make me keen on going that route, for very obviously spelled out reasons ( mass execution of immigrants / ethnic cleansing ala Iraqi Kurds, Serb / Kroat etc etc ). And don't fool yourself these things would happen if Texans didn't have a federal watchdog and could rule by mob power like they're trying to do with their racist Tea Party crusade.
