This is so illegal and corrupt that it is mind boggling.
Everyone keeps throwing around these words when holding him overseas isn't a violation of US law. It was within his discretion as commander in chief.

Impeach Bush! Keeping those bomb-throwers off the Baghdad streets at all costs! Arrest him!!

Come on, there is a reasonable chance that this kid actually did throw bombs at troops. Whether he is "innocent" or not is pretty irrelevant. He'll probably get released if the evidence falls through. His time away from the battlefield quite possibly saved lives. We don't put potential terrorists through trials and Miranda rights and reasonable doubt and all that crap for a reason. We want them off the battlefield and we want the information they have.

While simultaneously basing every claim of guilt upon witnesses he now doesn't trust to testify accurately. It's amazing how he turns every fact against his case into an argument for his case. And any evidence is simply wrapped in "quotes" to seem less "serious."

"Torture of children" yuk yuk yuk, you crazy libs...

And yet, his torture probably incited enough anger to cost us more lives.

    What a one-sided argument.

Wait, you want to imprison Bush over an international treaty (that nobody has proved he violated...I wonder whatever happened to Mr. Attorney General and his war crime charges) and not even US law?

You mean by making terrorists angrier at America they will be able to blow themselves up....TWICE?!

Hell I would have just killed him without a trial. He doesn't deserve to sit in a jail cell torture or not.

    More like:

"If the president does something that doesn't violate US law we aren't going to put him on trial in a US court"

    Unlike perjury, this doesn't qualify.

According to article four of the US Constitution:

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the Supreme Law of the Land..."

No, we just want to stop torturing children. How hard is that to understand?

Ah, I see. Wrapping an American flag around Britney Spears makes you magically a better American than the rest of us.

No, by making them angrier by doing stupid shit like this (locking up and torturing a child) it perpetuates a cycle of hatred.

Do you really think terrorists go "Oh. Man, poor child got what was coming to him"? No. If they used the child as a terrorist, mission accomplished. The rest of the world that sees the child as a child, however, sees it as merciless treatment of a fucking child.

You don't torture children. I don't give a fuck what they threw or didn't throw a grenade at. You don't torture a fucking child.

Who's a child? When do you stop being a child? What actions qualify someone to be treated like an enemy combatant? Throwing grenades count? Guess not.

Your war policy of "make friends with the enemy" even sounds silly.

No. Britney is amazing. America is amazing. Together they are absolute awesomeness.

5 links in this thread alone showed that we also tortured him.

So...no evidence against the Afghan kid, it's okay to keep him locked up for 6 years on a confession signed under torture.

But whoa slow down there cowboy if you wanna imprison my former president you gotta have a CASE there, son!

That's right. Bush wasn't on the battlefield allegedly throwing grenades.

    Really? We did?

"Jawad was questioned about the interrogation and confession, and confirmed that he had been tortured by Afghans, not American forces."

So essentially, this thread took a case where the kid admitted to throwing a grenade, then said Americans didn't torture him. And we're supposed to use this case as prime discussion about how we should put Bush in jail for "torturing" this kid.

You guys gotta drop the torture rhetoric. Half the terrorists you say were tortured say otherwise. Nobody has been able to prove that the techniques the US sanctioned were "torture".

How the hell are you suppose to get all this evidence against a terrorist? If you think civilians are willing to go on record, besides a quick finger point, and risk getting jihaded against your nuts.

"Torturing" the kid was wrong, that can't be defended but he sure as hell doesn't deserve to be released back to his hometown and upgrade his gernade to a rpg.

This shit shouldn't even surprise anyone, if you think your government values the pain a terrorist kid feels over some information that might help their soldiers then your in for a brutal surprise.

By the way, the suppossed witnesses that say the kid threw the grenade weren't his countrymen. The kid was from Pakistan.

edit: nevermind, he was an afghani refugee born in Pakistan... though i don't know if that means he's ethnically afghani and legally pakistani, but the kid only speaks pashto.

    Neither was the kid.
Again, for the third time, two bystanders identified him at the time of the incident. Selective reading is fun!
