Saw the movie this weekend and loved it. I loved that it wasn't 2 hours of OMG EXPLOSIONS the whole time (although the ending action sequence was absolutely amazing).

Story was amazing and well told. I loved the mix of the different ways it was told too. Documentary at the start and end, surveillance footage in the middle, and your usual 3rd person view point mixed in as well. Made for a very interesting mix that worked surprisingly seamless.

Friend I went with was on the fence about it. Mostly because she said it was hard to have empathy for aliens that looked like cockroaches. Which I more or less laughed at because that was the point of most of the movie's message. Was funny to see the reaction after that lol.

They better not make a sequel to this. It would completely ruin it and kill much of the great discussion that you can have about the movie (and the ending too).

Are you trying to nitpick the part with the mech suit? He was terrible with it. On autopilot it used the gravity gun to stop bullets, and with him piloting he got taken out by a .50 cal.

Brilliant, deep, and innovative. The theme worked so well and the sci-fi wasn't overdone. It really did focus on the hardships and corruption occurring on both sides and kept you on your toes.

Would definitely see it again.

Great movie but it had stupid, lead male syndrome. I hated almost every decision he made and was hoping he would die by the end, he only barely redeemed himself by fighting in the Mech.

I would love a sequel.

Well like how the guy was married to his bosses daughter but as soon as he found out how valuable he was, he turned him over. i.e. Human Greed. One is about humanity and the appetite for power. The guy who ate the aliens to be able to use the weapons. Or how his men took advantage of the aliens addiction to cat food to get cheap w/e. How a person can change. Him saving and letting Christopher go back home instead of fixing himself first.

Now replace the word "aliens" for any race or group of people and the word "cockroaches" to match the social stigma relating to that particular race/group.

This movie is already green-lit for 2 more sequels. This doesn't mean they will make 2 more, but IF they decide to write 2 more scripts the studio will have already approved the cost.

Just got back from seeing this movie, and I must say I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean, it was a very good movie. That's actually a fact. I'm just not sure how I felt about it.

It was interesting to see how we can go from viewing completely alien (no pun intended) things (the prawns) and not having any sympathy whatsoever, to wishing the worst death upon our own kind so the completely alien things can accomplish their goal. I mean, who didn't feel great after that meathead marine guy got ripped to shreds by the pack of prawns?

Also, CGI was off the charts. In movies like Terminator and Transformers, it was very obvious at points that the things you were seeing were not real. In this movie, however, the aliens were top-notch, and the only time I saw a glimpse of it not being real was when Christopher was showing his son the camp they were going to on that white pamphlet. Things like that really help immersion into environments that are pretty far-fetched.

All in all, I guess I'd recommend it to others, but only a specific crowd. To the guy who asked if this was a date movie, it definitely is NOT, unless you're dating a girl who's into lots of blood/guns/things blowing up and hopelessly sorrowful moments. I can't believe some of the things they got away with considering this is only a 14A movie!
