It's that time of year again, when work place productivity falls to zero.

BG's third annual College Pick Em is starting, along with our second Eliminator and Pigskin Pickem. All three are reachable by going to ESPN's home page, clicking on Fantasy & Games on the top, then picking the right games. You will have to register with ESPN to sign up, if you don't already have an account. Don't worry, it's free.

The proper name of the three games are:

Eliminator, Colleg Pickem, Pigskin Pickem.

All three of them have the same league name and password, cuz I'm lazy.

Note that Eliminator is not a Suicide pool, although it's similar. You pick one winning team a week for all 17 weeks, and you can't pick the same team twice. If someone at the end has the same total points, the tiebreaker will go to the person who had the longer streak to start the season. If that's still the same, we'll go with ESPN's obscure tiebreakers. There will be one winner, not multiple winners. Screw ties.

Pigskin Pick Em is a straight up "pick the winner" for every regular season NFL game. Tiebreakers are whatever ESPN has drawn up. There's an option to drop your worst week in this game, so I selected that in case people miss a week.

College Pick Em chooses 10 games a week and asks you to pick a winner and prioritize them from 10 to 1 (10 being highest, 1 being lowest). For every pick you get correct, you get that many points. So for that Florida-NE Tennessee School For the Blind game, you might put 10 on Florida. On a game you're not so sure about... say, Washington-Washington St, you might put 1 on that one. This game goes for 13 weeks, starting with 9/5.

I always say this, and it rarely works, but try to incorporate your BG login into your team name somehow so we know who the hell you are. You will need to sign up for ESPN.com if you haven't previously, but it's free and you can set up everything so that you don't receive junk mail. I wouldn't go in with a dummy e-mail because there are grand prizes for the best entries across all 100,000 entries or whatever. Only prize for winning the BG contest is bragging rights, +1" to your e-peen and your name on the list below.

All of these need to have your picks made fresh every week, although I think you can plan ahead with Eliminator and the NFL Pick Em. They have a function where they can send you an e-mail reminder every week; I suggest you use them.

Picks are up and ready to be made.

And before anybody asks, BG FFL titles aren't on the list because we've never had one winner, we've always had multiple and tried to figure out how to have a playoff in Week 17, but that's never worked. And I'm not going to list six winners for one event.

Regarding the number of threads, I figure we can keep this open with a periodic bump until the games start, then close it down and keep the discussion to the pro & college ball threads. I'll bump it again at the end of the season to congratulate the winners.
