    Ocho/Bradshaw/S.Smith (NYG)

    for

    P.Thomas/Ginn/Moreno

Edit: I'm really interested to see where Moreno goes this year if he can get/stay healthy. That was the more intriguing part of the trade in all honesty.

Avery's return is scheduled for week 1 and Spags said he could get some PT thursday. I honestly cannot see Fred Jackson starting at all. If your as hot on Pierre as everyone else is, by all means...

My BG-P league - I'm pretty happy with it but my WRs are not great

    Phillip Rivers
    Santonio Holmes
    Donald Driver
    Steven Jackson
    Marion Barber
    Tony Gonzalez
    Torry Holt
Packers D (reach but I had to)
    David Akers

    Backups:
    Rashard Mendenhall
Jerious Norwood (whoever told me he wasn't injured when I asked before drafting him is a fucking dick by the way)
    Domenik Hixon
    Chad Pennington
    Bo Scaife
    Indy D

I really tried to focus on getting every-down running backs for my starters. Portis almost dropped to me in the 2nd round, but had to settle for Barber (hopefully he doesn't get committee-d)

I don't like Pierre at all this season, but maybe I'm the only one. I turned down volcanic's Pierre trade offer in about 3 seconds. I rode his ass hard in the BG league last year, and loved it. If Mareno produces, you got a good deal. Throwing in Ginn was a simple redirection trick to bait you. He doesn't score and has butter fingers. You pretty much traded 1 great starter and 1 solid starter for potential.

Can someone explain to me the advantages of having Pierre Thomas as a starter?

Exactly. Those are my big gambles this year. Doubt I'll do much trading beyond that aside from compensating for injuries etc.

In my case, I wanted another RB in my starting line up that should have steady, reliable production every week instead of a WR that may go big one week and be gimpsauce on pts the following week.

Edit: It also fits into my bye plan perfectly. Looking at a weak week 5, but should be really strong for the rest of the season. I try to focus the bye weeks to my higher pt producing players to 1 specific week if possible. I trade off a weak game or two for a stronger line up the rest of the season.

Only problem with this statement is that you did the exact opposite. You traded for a RB who has a sprained MCL (RB + knee injury), who had 1 mediocre game when reggie bush was healthy. You traded away a WR who has consistently, reliably, been over 1200 yards the past 7 seasons. One bad season when he was missing his starting QB. I drafted Reggie Bush in this league for a reason, go back to the 2008 stats and look at his numbers when healthy (averaged 20 points a game in the first 6 games before going down). It's outrageous. I told you, with the scoring system for this league, it's nuts. It's hard to listen to the average joe here because they have no idea what the scoring rules are in this league. You can rape this league if you know how to draft it. Most use chalk rankings for chalk scoring systems. That's the reason for the long winded post I put in the fleaflicker forums.

Enjoy your trade...Volcanic got the best of you.

I'm taking a risk with the trade as well - Moreno could easily blow up bigtime and be one of the best backs in the league. Thomas was a beast last year at the end of the season and like it or not Tyche, he still is the #1 back on the best offense in the NFL. I already have Brees and in an ideal world I wouldn't have a QB+RB combo on the same team, but I had to take Thomas sitting there in the 5th round. In regards to Ginn, it's his 3rd year, and in my opinion he has far more upside than Steve Smith.

The bottom line is Gad needed RB help, so I gave him an established guy for a WR who had an off year last season in Ocho and a RB in Bradshaw who I really like and could be solid this year, but doesn't have nearly the same amount of potential are Moreno. I still have Willie Parker anyways as my #2 back which I'm fine with granted the WRs I will have.

Also Tyche, Bush is already struggling with injuries himself and we all know his track record in that department...

I would've considered it since I already have Hines Ward, but the autodraft gave me motherfucking Pat White as my backup QB....

So if I did trade palmer, I would need a guy that isn't injury prone like Roth.

And I think I might just keep AP. Tyche made a solid offer, but in a 14 team league, I can't see myself getting equal value in return.

And tyr, I was honestly insulted by the trade you proposed to me. McFadden and Moreno for AP?

    Seriously?

If you do go back and look at Ocho's numbers game by game you'll see what I'm talking about. Most receivers are similar.

He'll bust out 100-200yrds in a game or two, then he'll get 30-70yrds for a few.

Remember, this is my first year in this league. The scoring is different from any league I've played in yet, so I'm still learning.

Also, The Ginn trade was a bench player for a bench player. I expect more production out of him still than Smith, but if my starters stay healthy it's a moot point.

Smith is going to get more targets this year because of the lack of Plax. I like Ginn this year, but you traded a #1 target in Smith for Ginn who is basically playing in a "WR by comittee" system @ Miami.

Hixon is the #1 guy for the Giants, not Smith

He's not a #1 back, he's a #2 back on the best PASSING offense in the NFL. YOu know what Reggie Bush does well? Catch. Did you see his numbers the first 6 games last season? Absurd. Bush has a calf injury. There's no signs of any knee issues lingering. They've said repeatedly that the calf is fine and they're taking it in stride. Thomas has a grade 2 tear in his MCL. Should be fine, but it's much much more concerning than Bush's.

Bradshaw could have a good year, but I don't know about starting material. The wildcard is Moreno. Ginn is in his third year, but, as the other fins fan siad, he doesn't get thrown to in the red zone. That was a bait and hook you threw in there. He doesn't have near the upside as steve smith. Aside from last year, rookie wideouts don't have great track records, so Nicks isn't exactly reliable. They need someone familiar with the system to step up their game. It'll probably be Smith. Bess is going to be your leading receiver on Miami this year.

I'm not going to go on some rampant tear through fleaflicker and protest the trade, I'm OK with it. But you did rip gad off, and gad really needs to learn the scoring system.

Smith is also on a run first team. They were #1 in rushing last year iirc, and they'll be sticking to that game plan.

But like I said, they were both going to be sitting on the bench anyways. So I'm taking my gamble on the potential I picked up.

You can always counter offer with other players. I'm always open to fair trades.
