Wow. I know punching a guy is awful, but the entire year? Didn't a similar incident happen with the brawl between FIU/Miami and the guy was only suspended for four games?

He's had prior incidents and suspensions from the football team, although the exact nature of the incidents wasn't public knowledge. And if I were the U of O, I'd be a lot more worried about his inability to control himself with regard to the fans who were egging him on than punching the guy on the field.

He's a senior, he's done playing football at the U of O, but they are not revoking his scholarship.

Honestly, this situation is nowhere near the worst I have seen in CFB. Who else remembers when Ohio St. played Wisconsin and Robert Reynolds of Ohio St. strangled Jim Sorgi while Sorgi was on the ground LONG after the play was over? Sorgi ended up being taken out of the game due to having trouble breathing, and I think may have missed another game after that. Reynolds ONLY got a 1 game suspension after the media played the replay over and over. Tressel lost a lot of respect by me by not booting him for the year.

Yeah, that was fucking bullshit, had Sorgi on the ground by the throat helpless. 1 game suspension...

Well actually from what I read this morning the Pac-10 was listed as being a final punishment for him, but with the school punishing him so "severely" they were happy with that. NCAA can fine the school if they want to iirc.

Check ESPN2 my guide says ABC UGA v. OSU but my ESPN2 says that game OR WM v. M so maybe they're showing the opposite depending on the market.
