I bet Florida will be a 3+ TD favorite at least.

    GO IRISH!

Going to be at ND/USC this year too. Can't wait -- hopefully we win that damned game for once.

Season has the potential to be really damn good or more of the same. Quinn came into his own during his junior year, so hopefully the same is in store for Clausen.

I made a $200 bet with my friend who's a ND fan that PSU would finish higher in the rankings. Good/Bad bet? PSU's schedule is cake...it's sad to admit that. But I don't see myself losing this bet.

I'll probably get some pretty cheap tickets for a few Iowa games this year from some of my friends who go there, or from my friends uncle's season tickets. They are good god-damn seats too.

Oh man I'd love to go to an Iowa game. When I lived in St. Louis I never got the chance to head to Nebraska or to Iowa and I regret it big time. Nothing better to do on a Saturday and watch the Hawkeyes or the Huskers go to town.

If you're a fan of them or not wont matter, its just something you have to do.

LOL Purdue has made me numb to this fact. I am kind of scared to see post Tiller Purdue play. I mean you saw the Rodriguez loltransition in Ann Arbor and how that went over. Same with lolCallahan in Nebraska.

Post Tubberville will be interesting as well IMO.

Thank God, I've been waiting for this thread. Too bad I won't have Remyo to homer it up with this year, but I'm making up for it by getting tickets to VT/Bama at the Georgia Dome. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

If by interesting, you mean shitty, boring, and all of the negative things above, then yes I agree. I have -43% faith in post Tubs, at least for this year. I'm not a fan of the Spread offense as it is, and it went to show last year that Auburn can't get the athletes right now that it requires to run it. Not sure why they want to change things up. Last I checked, they had a 13-0 season with the regular run, run, defense, throw, defense, run sort of offense.

Ohio State is playing Navy for the first game. My chief says if Navy wins, he's paying a bar tab for 5 guys that night. Dear god, let it happen.

Ill buy into Florida being this good still when they're at 8-0. To me, regardless of how good Tebow is...i'll have to see how the changes to the players they lost to the draft affected how well the team operates. Not to mention the Sports Illustrated curse. Florida will be damn good, no doubt, but national title repeats I highly doubt.

Ole Miss at #4 is giving them too much credit I think. Theyll be good, and theyll be in contention to win the SEC West I think for a lot of the year. I feel though they might drop a game to one of their east opponents and run into trouble with either Alabama or LSU, but not both.

As for the Big 12...hmm. Oklahoma State / UGA I really think will be a very early measuring stick as to how good the Big 12 is this year. And I also still think Texas and OSU are better all around teams (especially defensive wise) than Oklahoma.

The Pac 10 is the Pac 10. USC will have a dumb loss, and then easily win the Pac 10 again. No surprises here.

Big 10: I don't really see a standout early favorite here to be honest. Ohio State has Pryor sure, but how good is everyone else around him now without Wells? Penn State to me had a fluke season (don't get me wrong, not that they didn't earn it) but I don't expect them to have legs to win 10 or 11 games. Michigan? Haha. Purdue and Michigan State might be best bets. Id love another Rose Bowl trip for sparty, and not having to play Ohio State helps that.

ACC: Georgia Tech has to be my pick here if people don't learn to stop the run. VT might take an early shot at things and keep going if they don't end up tripping on their midseason stretch like they have now and then. Not much else to talk about here imho. The conference still isnt too deep. See Big 10.

Mountain West, other conferences: TCU or Utah. Just please don't send them to the Sugar Bowl again so UGA can have someone decent to beat. ( And as impressive as Utah was in snubbing Alabama, I think its general consensus that Alabama rolled over pretty hardcore in the second half.)

SEC: Oh dear. Florida is obviously an early favorite. LSU, Ole Miss, and maybe even Alabama in the west though I don't know how much the loss of a veteran QB will hurt Alabama. Tennessee? See Michigan. South Carolina might turn some heads in a 8 or 9 win season maybe. Vanderbilt might even break 7 or 8 wins. I don't expect much from Kentucky outside their usual 1 upset a year. Don't expect Miss State or Arkansas to do much either. And on that note, people are highly undervaluing this UGA squad. No I don't expect us to be in National Title talk, but we have an amazing TEAM now, not just Stafford/Moreno and then everyone else. Id say 10-2 if we beat Florida, but well drop 2 other games, or 11-1 if Florida is our only loss.

Edit: Did Purdue have a coaching change? I think I forgot about that. If so, scratch Purdue for Illinois.

Gonna disagree with UGA and say they are an 8-9 win team. 10 if they are really lucky. They'll *should* drop the Oklahoma State game if Oklahoma State plays up to their potential, then they'll drop the Florida game. Not sure about the other loss, but most likely 9-3. They have a really young squad.

I disagree about Florida not being "that" good. I guess because UGA vs Florida and all that, but Florida returned every player on defense. Everyone of them. 22 out of 22. That's starters and bench players. The SEC is about defense first, therefore, Florida has a huge edge. If they play like they did last year after the Ole Miss loss, then Florida could go undefeated pretty easily, and would most likely romp LSU/Alabama/Ole Miss in the SEC Title game. Just because they are missing Harvin, it doesn't mean as much. They've got some great athletes on offense that can step in.

I do think Ole Miss is overrated at #4. I think Alabama is overrated too, but I don't think the loss of a veteran QB will hurt as much. John Parker Wilson wasn't that good of a QB. He was a game manager, not a guy who earned the job with pure skill. Heck, I think Croyle was a shit ton better than JPW, but Croyle was often injured.

As far as the Pac 10 goes... I actually disagree. Watch out for Oregon this year. People don't realize just how much USC lost this past year. They lost a ton of defense, their starting QB (though that doesn't seem that bad out there most of the time), and such.. so I don't think it'll be a waltz through. They could possibly lose two games. They've got a couple tough road games, and heck.. Ohio State might surprise 'em. Will be a tough game for that young squad.

Big 10.. I think Penn State wins at least 10 games. Have you seen their schedule? It's absolute shit and they should be ashamed for scheduling that way. It even makes some of the SEC soft out of conference schedules look tough. Ohio State and Penn State will be the top of the conference.

ACC will probably be Virginia Tech again until they lose the ACC. Beamer is just too much of a genius with his Beamer Ball to lose the conference. That and FSU/Miami still aren't FSU/Miami. Georgia Tech will be good, but not better than VT.

I think with Bradford back, Oklahoma won't need a lot of D again. They'll just outscore everyone. Oklahoma State is hyped up a bit at times, and then don't come through. They'll stay #3 in the Big 12 until they beat the big boys.

The confidence in UGA you have this coming year with that Sugar Bowl comment confuses me. I don't trust the guy behind Stafford at all (Cox?) and losing Moreno will be huge. You just don't realize it. Sure it'll be a TEAM, but that TEAM together aren't nearly as good as Stafford/Moreno + Supporting Cast of last year. They shouldn't have been as good as they were last year with their O-Line in shambles as it was. You'll be surprised with UGA and how much worse they play this year. You're overvaluing them. Also, doesn't the #1 SEC team go to the Sugar Bowl if the SEC doesn't send someone to the National Championship Game? Assuming Florida goes, it'll be someone from the SEC West who goes to the Sugar Bowl. Just throwing it out there.

My early West winner is LSU right now. LSU could surprise Bama in Alabama, and Ole Miss should beat Bama @ home.

Big East: West Virginia's gonna tumble hard. Losing Pat White is gonna be huge. I have zero clue who's going to win the Big East and I'll be honest; I don't follow it much. D: Gonna go with.. Cincy? GO BEARCATS!

practically 0, Mcelroy is pretty damn awesome and his passing is a hell of a lot better than JPW. My concern is Left Tackle and missing some folks off the D.

Oklahoma is fucking scary like Florida, I'm honestly surprised they're not 1 and 2. OU was a seriously young team last year and they lost a tight end and that's basically it. If Bradford is as good as he has the potential to be this year, even OkSU and Texas will be small hurdles.

I'd really hate to see them dominate the big 12 like that, but you gotta give credit where it's due. Say what you will about their defense, Florida's offense was the only offense comparable to the best big 12 teams anywhere, and they kept them well under what they were putting up throughout the SEC and a respectable out of conference schedule.

Bradford is an absolute prototype nfl qb, if he comes out showing a whole new level of maturity... I don't even wanna think about it ><

Ole Miss and Oklahoma state are both very much deserving of their rankings imo. They're extremely talented, and probably the 2 most balanced teams in the country. Not just offensively and defensively (Florida's just as balanced in that respect), but their run and pass are strong, and both teams have extremely promising run defense as well as strong pass rushes and worthy backfields.

In response to the comment about Tennessee-- there's no way someone's winning a Super Bowl with Brad Johnson at qb, Michael Pittman as the leading rusher, Keyshawn Johnson as the #1 wr, and Warren Sapp being the best TE on the team amirite? Monty = God. Don't forget that.

Texas Tech will be veeeeeerrry interesting. Reason being, they're always ridiculous on offense. Someone (or multiple someones) will step up in Crabtree's spot, Taylor Potts will throw for 4500+ yards and a ton of TD, etc. etc. The thing is, the reason they were finally respected early on last year was that they supposedly finally had a defense to support it. While they couldn't stop OU and Texas (or Miss ><), they were still decently improved from what they have been. If they can get some big stops, they're always a threat to beat anybody.

Out west I think people are ignoring Cal for some reason, don't be surprised if we end up with a really good matchup of Ohio State and Cal in the Rose Bowl. I'm pretty confident actually that Ohio State is going to have their way with USC, and leave USC reeling, hoping to recover against the wwww's in time to put up a fight against Cal.

The Pac 10 is going to be tough this year, but I think Cal is the best of the bunch. This kid is a beast:

edit: oh, and yeah, just lol@ the concept of Alabama getting worse in Saban's 3rd year because they lost JPW.
