If we're going outside the bounds of video game music, Soulja Boy Tell 'Em is the clear winner.
Wow. This is probably the most retarded topic ever.
this thread cracks me up. you're asking a BG forum if we're familiar with the grandfather of RPG music? the man who's Theme of Love is routinely taught in music courses in Japanese schools?
yes. we know who he is, and we love him. and now I'm listening to the orchestral version of Ronfaure's theme on youtube... mmm, love it.
and I hope whoever referenced him as composing FFXI's music was kidding, he only did a minority of the pieces. which a real hardcore fan could tell, he tends to use more concrete melodic themes (like the melody from Ronfaure) that can be easily recalled, as opposed to most of the environmental/ambient-sounding stuff that pervades the soundtrack.
He is one of the main reasons I'm looking forward to XIV because the music creates the vibe of the game and ron is my favorite zone in FFXI because of its melody.
thanks to this thread I've been listening to Ronfaure constantly lately, and I can't stop. I hate you all. but not really because it's an awesome song.
I found the sheet music to it online but it's just not the same on piano. maybe if I jazz it up a bit.
You know the sad thing is I always remember Nobuo's name and what he has done for the franchise but for the life of me I never remember the name of the series creator.
