The article itself is in Portuguese, as well as the video, but at least you can see it happening.

Basically, a controlled demolition gone wrong. The building being demolished had been abandoned in the 80's, and whoever owned the plot wanted to build a shopping mall in its place. The building stopped a few meters from the building next door.

Apparently they had some badass construction techniques 85 years ago, I would think most buildings would pretty much disintegrate when they fell over like that.

Thought exactly the same thing. I was amazed that it didn't fragment when it was on it's side and just kept on going. Hilarious.

Yeah, basically it was built to last...maybe much longer than intended. Was a factory to supply enough flour for the entire Angora/Anatolian region back in 20s. Picture below explains why it didn't disintegrate and how it differs from the technology today.
