    Vista RAM

    Until recently vista's been running fine but about a week ago its starting eating up all my RAM somehow. I only have aim and firefox running yet its using 1.65 GB of memory. double you tee eff? Anybody experience this kind of sudden jump?

    Oh I also have scanned my PC and nothing is showing up. Also not getting any type of pop up ads or anything that would make me think virus

    Indeed it was. Appreciate it. That thing was a fuckin hog. weird how it just started out of nowhere tho.

    Also, Vista will always use a lot of memory if you have it to spare.

    At 2 gigs of ram, Vista could take up about 30% of your memory just idling, and it'd take up 30% at 4 gigs too, not just 15%.

    Yeah this, Vista uses a lot of ram in idle, but it has a management system so if you start using an application taking up a lot of ram, it will shift it accordingly so it is nothing to worry about.

    As far as I know Superfetch just uses any spare RAM to cache memory or applications that you use often, making them run faster. As they say, unused ram is wasted ram.

    If it is causing your computer to slow down and is affecting you then yeah, that is a problem, however I have never had a problem with it. If you want to disable it (no guarantee it will increase your performance though) go to services and disable it from there.
