BG medical, have a silly but easy question!

Okay, this seems like a pretty silly question to ask, but I figure what the hell?

A bunch of my friends and I plan on going to Six Flags today. One of these friends had surgery for a Hernia about a month ago. He had 3 weeks off from work, and the other day he tried to do a light workout, but felt something and stopped immediately. He's able to play tennis (not rigorously) but at a decent pace. Is he alright to go on roller coasters without it killing him? I imagine he'll be a bit sore, but that's all. Thanks!

Depends how much of a rush or how scared they get on rollercosters.

If it was me, I wouldn't do it. Why take the risk?

He should just go for it, what's the worst that could happen?

I guess the worst that could happen is the repair site tears, a new hernia occurs which becomes incarcerated/irreducible and then a strangulated hernia, but hey, I'm sure there's a hospital near Six Flags.

    Post-surgery is a serious period. I wouldn't risk it....especially for a roller coaster.

And uh, yeah he should call his doctor. Not like the doctor will charge him anything for surgery related questions.

Um, if your friend's stitches are cool and he doesn't feel sore then he should be fine.

Of course, it goes without saying, why doesn't he just call his doctor and ask?

Realistically, he should stay away from the gravity roller coasters that do loops. Anything that has a lot of g-force is likely to give him problems.

    I would wait.

If he is capable of not tightening his muscles on the hard curves and shifts perhaps. I would not risk it, pain+medical bills. He should ask his doctor.

Um I would say no just because when he tried to do a workout the other day he had to stop. Why risk it? What has the doctor said about what he can and cannot do and in what time periods?

Well, we're back! It was a fun ass trip, and we got to go on a bunch of rides. He is fine, not sore or anything. Just tired cause he only got about 2 hours of sleep.

Also, Six Flags Flash Pass is SUCH a scam, but if you really want to get on any significant rides, you NEED that shit. Oh well. We had a great time, so that's all that really matters I suppose.

They claimed BK, yeah. HOW they claimed BK is a different story altogether. There were TONS of people in the park for a fucking Monday. The food prices are outrageous. It cost us $15 a piece for some chicken strips/fries/soda. Never mind the other shit during the day, a snack here, drink there. We all spent about $90 including admission. I can't even imagine a family with kids pestering you to do everything, playing those games, eating, and whatever else. Maybe they're not all as busy as the NJ one, but fuck... that one alone seems like it could keep 10 in business. Everything is a x10 profit!
