actually, no. once you've been seen by any medical professional and recommended a course of care, refusing the care comes tied with release forms basically saying they're no longer at fault for anything that happens to you because you know the risks and you've chosen to do things against medical advice anyway. i'm sure there are loopholes and extenuating circumstances like allowing patients who are clearly not able to make that kind of decision sign a legal form, but just generally speaking if hospitals were responsible for every motherfucker who rolled out and didn't do what they said, they'd all be out of business.

that would be nice, but realistically it's not going to happen. he's a marine and all marines are basically teenagers their whole lives with rare exceptions. they can't really help it; the environment basically enables the peter pan complex.
