i don't really blame walter reed; we went to another center with emergency services that was closer first, and they were even more retarded. they only had a portion of the necessary hemoglobulin and did not have any of the necessary specialists available, but rather than just send him directly to WR they decided to inject the portion of shit they had into his several day old injury. military facilities have very little teamwork and communication on their own staff and much less between multiple facilities, so how could they have known that this particular course of action made it impossible for the hand surgeons to do an accurate ultrasound of the wound and determine if there was any actual fluid in it? that's right; they couldn't, and thus we spent a night in the hospital because they decided to split up his treatment instead of just send him over to the other hospital where all the necessary components were located simultaneously.

that's only the tip of the iceberg bro. they basically don't give a shit if you're in pain or not and will do things like have 3-4 nurses who never even speak to one another rotate through your room to perform the same fucking painful action back to back to back to back as if having a different nurse perform the same action is going to produce different results. they also have problems listening; you cannot tell military medical personnel that what they are doing has already been done once or more and didn't work. nobody on any staff communicates and they all need to see for themselves.

seriously, i almost went irate civilian on them. he's used to shit treatment because that's how the military rolls, but to me i see people who don't know what the fuck just behaving like assholes. causing someone unnecessary pain, no matter how little it is, because you don't know what the fuck and don't want to take the time to read up on what the fuck just makes you an incompetent asshole. it takes a lot for me to lose my temper and flip my shit on any kind of staff worker, but seriously dude. you do not just show up and ask someone to take a whole set of x-rays over again because your lazy ass didn't bother to get them from the last treatment center. the military doesn't have that kind of money. you do not have 4 different people flush someone's IV 3 separate times within 10 minutes when once would have been enough and the last two were warned that what they were doing was pointless and had already been determined not to work.

they also seemed to have some kind of problem comprehending "you cannot send me away; i need to be here for every doctor's evaluation and every time instructions are issued because he has short term memory problems." i thought that was pretty direct but apparently it sounds like "try to banish my ass to the family room across the ward in order to adhere to policies without necessarily applying any common sense." someone along the line must have forgotten i'm not military personnel myself. anything these dumbfucks say to me is taken to be the suggestion that it is.

p.s. all military members are fuckin' retarded with the only exception possibly being some of the more book-learninz-required jobs in the air force, and even those people still lack common sense. all this dumbfuckery went on at army medical centers just to drive that point home. at the very least, you tend to run across more combat marines with a modicum of common sense than pretty much any other group of people in any other force. all POGs basically just run around with their thumbs up their asses all day every day.

really though it's just the cat. she really hates the shit out of him for no reason. the first time the two were ever in a room together, she started hissing and spitting at him before he even realized she was there. we're talking massive hate. well he was trying to fish her out of a hiding place she'd taken up under the sink because it had just been ant sprayed recently and it's like full of chemicals so she shouldn't be under there and BAM, bitten.

you can't really clean a cat bite out properly because of how deep their fangs can go. apparently you're always supposed to go to the emergency room for shots and antibiotics.

and the blame is being placed for two reasons:

1. i told him to just leave her there and i would handle her.
2. he literally has an entire closet dedicated to gear and has several pairs of thick gloves that could have been used should he decide to discard number one. i mean if an animal is hissing, spitting, nipping, and swiping at you, do you stick your fucking bare unprotected hands all close to them? srsly.
