Spoken like a person who truly has no idea what libertarianism is.
Libertarians are about individualism, that is, personal liberty. It's a novel concept, as far as politika goes, maybe 50 years ago. It's derived from classical liberalism, which was conceptualized by United States of America.
the personal liberty to fuck other people over
I didn't ask for the wiki definition of Libertarianism I ask a specific question. Again since you didn't answer it. Is there currently a government lead by the principles of Libertarianism. That is, is there a government anywhere in the world that puts "personal liberty" above all else. If not why do you think that is? I mean even Socialism was able to get a world power to follow its Ideals within 60+ years.
Btw while the current form of Libertarianism was defined 60 some odd years ago. It been around long before that. even longer then socialism.
Any liberal who has not read my thread and therefore does not agree with guartz should go back and read my thread and then you'll agree with guartz. Otherwise, you're are woefully ignorant.
Did you seriously cite the Netherlands as a libertarian haven? You realize they have universal healthcare and the income tax for rich people is 52%?
Where do I sign up?
from their own charter.2.4 Government Finance and Spending
All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution. We oppose any legal requirements forcing employers to serve as tax collectors. Government should not incur debt, which burdens future generations without their consent. We support the passage of a "Balanced Budget Amendment" to the U.S. Constitution, provided that the budget is balanced exclusively by cutting expenditures, and not by raising taxes.

Perhaps they are simply more pragmatic.

ok now I'm confused. What is the difference between a Libertarian and a Anarchist?

Anarchists call libertarians Minarchists in denial.
