FFXI Races in FFXIV pictures New

It's probably going to be like Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Certain races gain boosts to certain builds while at the same time gender determines what parameters you lack in.

Take the "Imperial" race for example:

Male

+10 Personality
-10 Agility and Willpower

Female

+10 Personality
-10 Agility and Speed

Skills
+10 Mercantile, Speechcraft and Heavy Armor
+5 Blade, Blunt and Hand to Hand

I could see that happening here especially with that comment on gender.

Looks like there is gonna be a lot of character blinking in the game. Unless of course, they learn from their mistake in FFXI. Changing jobs on the fly sounds hot though. This game is shaping up to be great. Can't wait for Gamescon so we can actually see some trailers of the game running. Part of me wants to believe that SE is fairly close at announcing a beta. Like 1-2 months close.

Concerning the new race, don't expect too much: there might not be any new race since miqo'te's males are extremely rare like in FFXI so they match up with roegadyn as a race couple.

First pic looks like a hat/berret/turban with two feathers and second one is a lalafell (about the same height) with a two-horned hat like the horned hat of SMN.

To sum-up, don't expect a new race or you might get disappointed.

It looks like they are the starting towns: they're the sando, bastok and windy of FFXIV.

there's probably the typical stat differences between races, but male/female have exclusive classes.

Thanks for the translations guys, all of a sudden I'm really excited for this game. It sounds like you are going to be able to change jobs on the fly, which will be really awesome. What's that? Your healer just D/C'd? good thing your thief brought their healing gear with him! It opens up alot of new possibilities for party composition. I totally feel like the "more solo content" is a pretty farce though. I think it will just be like FOV with players able to get XP solo, but not even come close to competing with partied players.

Well now that you mention it... If you look at it sideways if does kind of look like a Bengal from FFXII, but I still think its that Roegadyn's Captain Falcon-like knee or some piece of cloth hanging off from the panty shot Hyuran's clothes.
