Hume dude -> Fighter
Fighter then has arrows to Sorcerer, Crafter, and Gatherer.... hmmm
EDIT: Tarus are much cuter now that I see the size comparison o:
I see, I thought that at first but I figured it'd be more like a square or something then lol. But I guess that's just one example.
Anyone else feel they've really painted themselves into a corner with only warrior/sorcerer as the real fighting classes? lol, seems like they're gonna have to leave out a lot of unique and interesting playstyles they could have included (things like COR come to mind).
Why my name is always credited as "the other guy", am I tabooed like in Harry Potter? :X
Hey! At least they refer to you in some way! =p
Beeewaaare the 'other' guyyy.
Do the "Tarus" remind anyone else of the Teletubbies? Kinda tall pear shaped people. Fatarus indeed.
It's not much of a stretch to assign a basic category to any possible class they could come up with. COR is defined by gun and dice usage, so it goes into the Fighter category. BLU is defined by blue magic, so it goes into the Sorcerer category.
The other thing to keep in mind is that the two specific classes listed with each category are only representative of the types of classes that will fall into that category.
What I meant is like, say those are the only 4 classes and then they add Corsair. You'd have to equip guns and dice, or certain other gear like their hat, to be Corsair. But then you limit yourself on what gear you can have for other builds, like racc/ratk/mab, you limit 1 or more of your gear slots just by being COR. Whereas a RNG has all of them free except their weapon.
From the magazine they told us that many classes fall under "fighter" for example we know that "Archer" ranger~ fall under fighter
It seems that they will use a job system that is similar to other mmorpgs this is an example

The basic is being a fighter or mage~
I never got why RPGs like to have like, super advanced classes. Like in that picture, bishop -> cardinal or treasure hunter -> adventurer.
Like, why not just make the original better? It'd be so much less confusing. But then again I'd rather all the classes be balanced and useful than have some just be replaced.
No idea, i find FF11 to have he best battle system Main/Sub jobs but i guess they dont want to create a game where every melee sub /nin and break the game, hnms where suppose to hit very hard but ended up that you can avoid there hits all together with /nin
I think sub jobs is dead and they want to focus at main jobs only with the option to change your job when needed ,
The reason why some mmorpg use such system to avoid confusion for new players, when we started FF11 we had like 12 job to chose from with advanced jobs, but now it's easier you get to chose being a melee or mage only
