Hey Jay
You don't level up, but instead get better weapons and armor, and get sent to do stuff by a guild. Sound at all familiar man?

Anyone else starting to get annoyed with the thread title? >.>
I don't think the height adjustment in Guild Wars was bad at all, you could make yourself shorter, which suited well for a lot of people (female monks and assassins and such) and you could be pretty beefy if you wanted as well.
Not every game that has boob sliders have bad looking armor, I don't want to mention it too much, but look at AionI just would like the option to have a short petite character while someone else could have the choice to be a more athletic looking female character with big boobies. The thing is that, for me at least, character customization is the most important thing to an MMO to me. You're going to be spending a lot of time on whatever character you make, so most people would like to have their character to look the way THEY want to. Maybe it's just me but if I'm going to play a character that's predominantly a mage, I don't want to look the same as someone who's a fucking Warrior, it just kinda irks me.
I like playing younger looking characters when possible, there's a lot of game where the height slider is sometimes related to age, and I don't mind that. I'm short so I like to play short characters, but sometimes the height slider is way too extreme (like in Aion) or people make small characters to make them harder to target in PvP or what not, and it kinda ruins the purpose of character customization when everyone is the same because one way is "better".
Character customization is somewhat important to me, but when some friends of mine made me try out City of Heroes a while ago.....that was just too much. I would much rather have them working on more important things in the game, besides 12,000 options for my feet. Color sliders for hair and eyes would be nice though. =(
Im going to recreate myself, same clonethra hair, but with blue eyes
I'd much rather they spend the time and resources on equipment (weapons, armors, etc) models than a super robust character customization. Your body will be covered in armor most of the time and you will rarely get to see your own face. Nor will people be (too) concerned about each other's facial features. People will be awed by someone's XIV's version of Koenig, not their high cheek bones and thin nose.
I'd be content with a bunch of preset faces (20~30+ imo), hair/eye color, skin color and 3 or 4 height options.
I'd much rather them spend the time and resources on something that you're going to most likely stick with the entire time you play the game. All the fancy armor and weapons they make could be used for a certain amount of time, but you will always be the same character you started the game with, and I would rather them put the effort to letting you make your character look like you would like, than making another cool weapon or two.
Weapons and Armor come and go but your character stays the same. I would like for there to be a substantial amount of customization options. I'm not saying it has to be epic like City of Heroes or Aion or Star Wars Galaxies, but it has to be a lot better than FFXI, that's for damn sure.
Yes they come and go, replaced by newer and prettier ones. What's wrong with that?No doubt it should be much better than FFXI. FFXI had barely any customization lol.

You're spoiling me haha, I'm going to finally get to play FF14 and be severely dissapointed when there isn't an option for a rainbow popsicle haired Taru!
I think it was like that because in CoH you just make your character and that's it, you dont get equipment that changes in looks every 5 levels, so in the case of that game it was important. But I agree there can be toooo much customization going on, I just hope for more hairstyles and colors this time around
I'd like so see a Palette of SE approved colors for each Hair, Eyes and Skin and then a slider to adjust the saturation of said color with in a limited range.
Hair: White, Black, Blond, Brunette, Redhead then variations based on each race, some get green or blue or so on so you get about 9 choices of hair the palette would be 3 rows 3 columns.
Eyes: Brown, Blue, Green, Gold, maybe Red and black.

People like me.
can someone make me a taru with red hair, black moustache, rainbow eyes, and a green/silver unibrow plx
I don't necessarily want Aion-style customization, but I really hope we have more than like 4-6 options for face/hair/etc. A color palette for hair would be nice. I don't care about size really. Since I plan to do lalafell, I'll probably make my char as large as possible just cuz I've been messing around on my boyfriend's char in FFXI and I changed his hume to taru. I can't see shit when I'm attacking stuff.
This is also the new make requests for rowe thread. I love that rainbow hair thing. Could you make one with possibly either red hair or blue hair with either green eyes or blue eyes? Whichever looks better. I need a new sig.
The problem with FFXI's character customization process was that the hairstyles were tied to the actual faces. You weren't able to select the 1A hume with the 3A (Zell look alike) hair or any other combinations. It was either 1A (black hair) or 1B (blonde hair). Simply allowing you the option to choose another hairstyle would've made it so you didn't log in and see 10 people that look exactly like you online. Its little things like that, that they need to expand on.
Roweeeeeeeeeeee make me a Hyur avatar please. <3
I'm not gonna dump Rowe with more request, I was just wondering if he made any more Elvaan males. I just see the one, was hoping to see the shaggy black haired one.
