didn't read the thread at all so dunno if others have expressed this view.

but i'm dissappointed that they are just recycling old character types and changing the names. that sounds incredibly lazy to me. either keep them the same character types and keep the same names or change them altogether.

SE's excuse was that they want us to think of our characters like actors playing roles in different movies.

It's one step up from "We apologize for the inconvenience." at least.

I really don't mind about the races but I can see where people are coming from. They took the familiar XI races and made them a bit more human-like, a bit easier to identify with. I sure as hell know I will take these "recycled" races over, say, a baanga or those horrible things from The Last Remnant.

This characters talk remind me of my WoW experience ~

Installed the game trial and everything then at characters creation window and i was like wth there is no way that I'm gonna play a game with such a fugly looking characters no matter how good it's and left the game, I'm not kidding i left before i even logged into the game

There was ZERO single "decent" looking race

I rather they reuse FF11 characters and enhance them "They did" look at taru size/galka body-tail/Mithra face etc

I thought I was an oddball for being so concerned about the way my character looks in a game but I agree completely and will refuse to play a game over it as well lol.

I judged WoW by its looks at first too but it really grew on me after a while. I agree that looks do matter, but I was just ecstatic in WoW that I could have purple hair, so that made me happy for the time I was playing it.

Lalafells look cute and all, but I have to say I prefer in-game tarus. Tarus are like lil awesome niggas and Lalafells are like those Crystal Chronicles people.

Looking at them together like that made me realize just how much better I like the new tarutaru over the old one. I might even consider having a Lalafell alt keke.
