Tarutarus ingame design in FF11 was bad, they looked cute and all but when you play all what you do is watch people asses "At least that what happened to me when i played with my friend account"

Plus you can not really see any details with the armors they wear unlike other races
and you can not even tell if it's female or male and lets not forgot there design is weird :/ they are a head+ass combined there is almost no "body" XD

YET they are still cute somehow

People say it doesn't matter, but I think it does. After all, armoured or not you spend your time looking at the same character, so they might as well be aesthetically pleasing. I'll always appreciate FFXI for its graphics.

FFXIV Tarutaru looks exactly like FF11 CG tarutaru~ "It even got better Hair/ears details"

I just did notice that the "Extreme" black nose is gone in the ingame model , lalafell nose looks better to me personally

SE went lazy with FFXIV Races i think
We know that this time races won't have any worthy different status wise according to SE

Why did they not add more races is something that puzzle me
Maybe they plan to add more over the years Expansions maybe, did not WoW do that?

Yeah, WoW added Blood Elves and Draenei with the Burning Crusade xpac.

Oh my bad. Blood Elves/Draenei look good. All the other races in WoW are fucking ugly, though.

It could be another "subtlety" SE introduced about height customization. Though you can't see the height of the male taru in the pic where he's wearing a robe-like armor, you can kinda tell the it doesn't seem as tall as the one with the black/gray armor.

WoW added a new race to each faction in BC.

I really hope SE doesn't do something like that though. I would not like having made a character, playing for a while, and have new races come out that look better than my current one.

edit: Oops, didn't realize there was another page of this topic that already answered the WoW related question. Oh well, my opinion is still valid at least!

I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain about the PC requirements of FFXI and it not only looks way better, it came out 2 years earlier.

Some games are just not good looking in screenshots, FFXI is by no means an ugly game but it suffers the same problem that WoW does, it looks crappy in screenshots.
