I hope they burn the UI from FFXI in a bonfire, it was horrible.

I really could not imagine playing it without Windower, plugin macros and such. I don't mind the way the UI looks per say, but it was clunky and it was more than a nuisance than anything. I think the biggest thing that pissed me off was how useless your mouse was most of the time.

I don't mind addons to be honest, hell the single greatest addon to the FFXI UI was being able to see people's TP without them having to scream it every 4 seconds.

I agree with that
Even macros were retard i got sick of pressing ctrl+1 ctrl+2 etc every few seconds
The screen UI is fine but controls were not, you have a problem with the controls more than the UI

I still remember using like 3 macros just to equip ws gear/WS/equip tp gear back
it would be better if there was 1 button programmed to do all that at the press of 1 mouse button .

You just reminded me how lame the macros were. Having all the gear in the game be situational and macros being limited to 5 (or was it 6?) lines with about 50 characters or so fucking sucked. This needs to change! Especially since the game seems to go the route of situational gear again. lol

To be fair, you were comparing a FFXI screenshot with some really terrible WoW screenshots. Those interfaces were terrible and not what most people use.

This is a real raid with a real UI. 98% of people who raid (and are somewhat intelligent) don't have a clusterfuck of addons covering their screen.

I quit WoW a while ago so I could care less what people's opinion of it is, but as Silverbreeze pointed out that wasn't a fair comparison. I enjoyed both FFXI and WoW, and I've always thought the whole debate on which looked better, etc was retarded.

Blizz is working on their next MMO, and have been for a while, but who knows when that will be out. FFXIV would have to be extremely casual-friendly to attract the type of people that are playing WoW now. They're really two different playstyles.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, typical merit situation on my Blue Mage.

[Alt-9] Haste/Accuracy Gear, swing for TP.
[Alt-8] Blue Magic Gear, [Ctrl-1] Disseverment
[Alt-9] Haste/Accuracy Gear, swing for TP.
[Alt-8] Blue Magic Gear, [Ctrl-2] Hysteric Barrage, [Alt-7] Blue Magic Gear with extra Accuracy [Ctrl-8] MP Drainkiss
[Alt-9] Haste/Accuracy Gear [Ctrl-5 Refueling] Get TP for skillchain.

Then Skillchain time, well fuck.

[Alt-1] Chain Affinity [Alt-0] WS Gear [Alt-3] Weapon Skill [Alt-8] Blue Magic Gear [Ctrl-1] Disseverment [Alt-9] Haste/Accuracy Gear.

Don't forget macroing in entire haste sets and recasting Utsusemi when needed, macroing in a set for healing for Magic Fruit, ughhhhhh.

That's using macros that let me equip more than 5 items at a time, I could not POSSIBLY imagine trying to do that without windower plugin macros. Playing your best in a merit PT was a fucking nightmare. It's the biggest thing I want to see fixed. I WANT BUTTONS that I can CLICK.

The removal of reliance on macros or the removal of macros altogether would be the best fix.

Downloaded one of your PSDs to see what I was doing wrong... and wow... I don't even know wtf were you were doin in half of those layers lol. Bout all I did right were the eyes, the hair is just a complete mess if I try to do anything darker than the original.

I remember having to hit 2 macros to swap to my PLD's fire resist/magic defense gear then 2 more to swap back to actual tank shit. It was so annoying.

I click too. Still own fools in PvP/Arena though! :/

Some buttons are clickablee, some need keybindings ~

You have to remember I'm left handed and I play with my mouse in my left hand, so my key combinations are limited on my right hand lol.

Your screen prove nothing all what i see is ants maybe post a screen in the middle of a fight instead of being 2 miles away plus this is modded wow that keep the UI at minimum not the standard game. even with all that being said it still look ugly as hell i guess posting good screen shot of wow fighting monsters is not possible so just give up guys even in silver breeze screen there were no players or enemies on screen and it was on extreme high settings and modded we already moved on i didn't play wow and i have nothing against it i just don't like the UI that's all why can't people get that? we already saying FFXI macros were lame FF11 is not the perfect game so does wow.

Somehow i did get used to that, but when i left FF11 for 6 months and returned i was like wtf, there is no way i'm gonna keep pressing those macros and went gimp party style and only used tp gear XD it was not fun pressing macros every few seconds

How do you guys feel about the addition to voice acting? Voice acting with subtitles or ingame text. I doubt they'll go that route (so much work so little time). There's way too many NPCs that will have to have unique voices, or they could reuse them lol. Then there's also multi-languages (or just ENG/JP) they'll have to do. Personally I wouldn't mind as long as they use tasteful voices. Would it be welcomed?
