You could still encounter others obviously outside of instances in WoW, but.. I played 4 different servers quite a bit, and compared to FFXI, the WoW community... It's so hard to find people that are friendly. Obviously there's some, but lots of people will just completely ignore you, or their only reason for playing is to quest and level up for themselves. In FFXI, walking by someone in a dungeon, they'd often ask for help, and I'd go out of my way and help them, vice versa too, and that really built the friendship aspect of the game, helping that guy would get me invited to more groups, etc. It made it a real MMO. Why play an MMO when you can o start to max level alone? Might as well just make it an offline game, add better graphics, good voice acting, more unique gameplay elements that are only possible in offline games, cause so many MMOs that are soloable to endgame almost seem offline.

That's my favourite part of XI. All MMOs have their little perks though.

I really want a customization demo, especially since all the races look super awesome now. I hope they show off a lot of game features at the convention on the 19th. :<

They did this mostly in the early low lvl instances, but it was really nice not having to camp the NM. If that Rare spawn didn't pop up in the instance, you could just run out and reset the instance and go back in. And it wasn't a 1/100 chance that they would spawn, which was also nice.

Even if 99% of HNMs were from BCNMs or something similar in FFXIV , there shouldn't be 1% camped hnms, why should someone get better gear than me just because he have a boring life and no sense of fun at all? i rather play another game then, and SE can keep their game. if SE plan to get millions of users they should focus at what average people want,i have no problem with super rare elite gear if the requirement was like fighting something extremely hard that only 1% of people can beat, but forcing us to do boring shit for gear is silly, if they don't fix that they can keep their few normal FF online fans which will always be there and the 50k miserable boring people, they wont expand their user base if they use camping system again.

Anyways, um, yeah, FFXIV.
Miqo'te, they said more catlike, but they dropped the nose >.>
Maybe they mean personality/habit wise?
Claws would kinda be cool too, I guess.

Also, Mithra in FFXI were the only race I felt didn't match up with their RotZ sin.
Galka/Rage, yep. Elvaan/Arrogance, oh HELL yes. Taru/Cowardace, you see it in the non-hero NPCs. Hume/Apathy, in dealing with galka, corruption, and other nations, yeah.

But Mithra/Envy, I just don't really see it.

On FFXIV races and options,

Having messed around with colorizing Lalafell, Miqo'tes and now the male Hyuran, I feel SE might not make all options universal.

I can see Lalafell and Miqo'tes having more options for hair and eye color than the Hyurans or Elezens and I'd be ok with that. Hyuran and Elezen are close to what we are use to seeing everyday so we expect to see them in that way, Blond, Brunette, Redhead, Whitehead, Black hair with Blue, Green, Brown maybe Gold Eyes.

Lalafells and Miqo'tes with odd color hair and eyes I wouldn't have a problem with at all.

Hell I am beginning to think maybe a potion of hair coloring that temporarily changed hair color would be a good idea.
