Sorry, just went and read the whole of the original shots; it looks like Famitsu predicts that the "Sorcerer" base will be the one to get curing and support spells and traits. Nothing about that has been officially stated to them though and a bunch of what they have written is just their own speculation.

I'm going to hope that like a few others have said, that SE will "surprise" us fan base with those sort of things as time goes on. As of now the redesigns are nice but its hardly a change at all really.

Soceror: Curser, Illusion Maker(Can't translate this well, it's some different mage, e.g.: Summoner, Blue Mage are not traditional mages too)
Crafter: Smither, Cooker
Gatherer: Gardener, Fisher

Odd, so crafting may not be broken down by profession/trade-skills and are now class specific? Or i read it wrong

I don't think that could be considered as a time mage, but you get the idea.
What I can imagine is they are just using some special magics, more close to summoner i guess.

I hope SE doesn't pull of this new class name bullshit. I like Red Mage, White Mage, Blue Mage, Red Mage, Paladin, etc. Simple names and nothing to weird. Sorcerer? Gatherer? D: Noooooooooo

Just think of FFIII/DS, wouldn't be surprised to start seeing names like those popping, like Devout, Sage, Evoker, Magus etc.

I don't think the Tarus look as bad as people make them seem, but I guess there have to be complaints somewhere. I like the fact that they have knees now...

As far as the class system thing, well if that's true, then i wonder how exactly it'll work as far as changing goes. That is if you can change classes. That's one of the big advantages to it over WoW imo.

Yes they said this in one of the earlier interviews.

Races' names:
- hume > hyuran
- tarutaru > lalafell
- galka > roegadyn
- elvaan > elzen (as read)
- mithra > micott (as read)

Job System:
There're four categories for now: warriors, magus, crafters and hunters/fielders.
In each categories, there're different jobs.
- Warrior : Swordsman, Archer
- Magus : Enchanter, Sorcerer
- Crafter : Smith, Cook
- Hunter/Fielder : Gardener, Fisher

There're nine pages about FFXIV in the (mysterious) book, we'll need to wait few hours or days before more scans.

I disagree actually, sounds very much that you can have all jobs on the same character.

Seems the weapon chooses your class, therefore if you equip certain weapons/gear, you'll change your class.
