PS3 Slim + Price Cuts!? (Aug 18)

As far as I can tell Sept 1st is the date by which the slim will be available everywhere. Like I said earlier in this thread, my gamestop told me I can come pick it up on the 25th.

Video game stuff oddly enough, is not really like Hollywood. Most of the time retailers are allowed to sell and item as soon as they receive it.

Really? Stores can get in a lot of trouble for selling games early or so I have heard. I've preordered from places like Gamestop before, and they've had it in stock for days but won't let you pick it up until release date. I mean I've heard of people that are friends of the manager or employees that do it. Probably more strict with games than consoles though, as some games online mode, they have to have the servers running maybe?

Hollywood movies still get released earlier than in EU anyway, it's funny, having grown up in the UK and being used to getting most stuff like games last, we used to joke that the US were our beta-testers, lol.

Maybe it's my charm, but any time that I here a game has actually arrived at gamestop, I have no problem walking in and buying it, regaurdless of whether the release date hase come.

If you do I'd still suggest trying some of them out, even if you don't buy it before you dismiss them completely. I played Valkyria Chronicles at my friends and really liked it, can't wait to get it with my slim.

Yes I like RPGs >_> And last time I blindly listened to random advice, I ended up not liking the game at all. The main difference here is, I can't pirate ps3, so I don't want to buy games that I wont actually like

VC is a strategy game. Demon's Soul and Folklore are action RPG's. Cross Edge is shit. I'd definitely recommend VC and Folklore (latter should be stupid cheap now). If you do decide to pick up a PS3 there is a demo of VC and Folklore iirc that you could try before you buy.

edit: Also, I'm really not too into action rpgs.. some of them I like (Zelda (not so much RPG (debatable), but still), KH, etc), but the majority of them just give me a really really bad headache, even the ones that I do like (but they're good enough to make me go through them anyway >_> I think I'm halfway done with TP, after having it for idk how long lol)
