EyePet for 50 Euros, wtf? I was hoping it'd be at most a $10 PSN download, not a full fledged retail product based on still-gimmicky technology. (augmented reality). It's just a toy.

[EDIT] Ah, the 50 euro (~$70) copy comes packed with the Playstation Eye, would explain the price some more. (given the cam sells for $40 by itself)

So 'miniS' is the new section of PSN, for titles that run under 100mb, sort of like Microsoft's old 50mb limitation back in the day for Xbox Live Arcade. I really don't see the point in it unless it's Sony's way to filter out all the steaming pile of crap devs are going to throw at them in the upcoming months like the Apple AppStore receives daily.

Seems like a way to drop more casual games on PSN, for the PSP, for a few dollars a pop. Seems kind of stupid to me since the PSP and App Store cater to 2 diff types of markets. Yeah, their are hardcore / casual games for both systems, but what makes the App store market so friendly is the ability to drop what you are doing in a sec and pick it up later. You don't need to worry about saving / ect...

Indeed. Its now the same price as the 360 Elite. Wonder what Microsoft will do to counter this... Sony is setting up for that upset victory in this gen of gaming.

Overall pretty cool, I'm most excited about BBC integration and UI enhancements. I'm kinda miffed they didn't introduce a party play feature like Xbox, but I guess there is still time for that to be announced? Or are the video previews kinda the definitive thing for major enhancements to the software?

So has the maintenance been done and gone with? I heard noon to 2pm EST, and the store is operational on my end with no visible changes, nor any firmware update prompt. Guess there wasn't anything new for us to receive? Would explain the complete lack of FW3.0 being mentioned as far as I saw in the blogs.

What's good looking about firmware 3.0?

The new moving backgrounds/themes, also pretty sparkley stuff, all of the instant access to things without having to go through menus, new avatars (about fucking time).

So anyone planning on buying a slim? I kinda want to wait 1-2 weeks after it's release to hear about any kind of potential overheating or failures. I mean the original PS3 is pretty solid, we will just have to see if it will live up.

Damn I really hope someone took high res close up shots, I want to see the back where all the outputs are.
