So anyone planning on buying a slim? I kinda want to wait 1-2 weeks after it's release to hear about any kind of potential overheating or failures. I mean the original PS3 is pretty solid, we will just have to see if it will live up.

I could see me moving my current ps3 up to the bedroom or office and buying a slim for the family room. Just b/c of the bigger h/d. Who knows.

It is unfair that they didnt adjust the Euro price to match that of US/JP. :/

I wont buy the console right on release but definitely within that month. Gonna keep an eye out for reviews on it. Also there should be pictures of the slim popping up on the net sometime today for sure.

Yeah, but its not all that much though. Like in my state with the tax the ps3 will now cost me $315. Or I could drive 30 minutes upstate to New Hampshire which has no tax and get it for $300 =P

It is excluding them. Here in NY $299 after taxes would be $326.61 give or take.

They need to do something about that PSPgo price. At $250 it doesn't look like much of a deal when you can spend an extra 50 and get a PS3.

Yea the highest in the US is most likely California, they have 7.25 tax (last i heard). So, $320.68 or 227.63 euros

Concurrently with the release of new PS3, system software will be upgraded to version 3.00 on September 1. The update adds various user-friendly features such as the “What’s New” screen, where users can quickly browse the new items available in PlayStation Store as well as their recently played games directly on the XMB™ (XrossMediaBar), with short cuts to each piece of content. BRAVIA® Sync™ Feature

8.75% with some counties even higher. Alameda county is 9.75%, and they don't even offer us lube.
