Damn can't believe they didn't take a back shot of the inputs, oh well, was just really wondering on which side the HDMI was because my cable is short and barely reaches the monitor.

Eh? This is from one Norelco's previous post:

Refresh and scroll up for moar. And to answer your question if you stare at the back of the PS3 it seems that HDMI is a little off-center-slightly right.
Wow, there's no venting on the main body of that at all, only in the base....
PS3 is sure going to be a 'hot' sell this coming September.
Wow a standard power cord? Sony has really come along way, still can't believe 360 uses those embarrassing power bricks.
It looks very clean, can't wait for this. Once they announce PS2 BC, Sony will just dominate from then on.
That would explain why I didn't see the rear picture, my bad.Refresh and scroll up for moar.
lmao speed holes.
Well honestly I expected the power cable to be the same one the old PS3's had since it seemed like it would still fit to me regardless of the smaller size.
Theres really no excuse for not having BC.
Ya its cool, I didnt mean to sound like an ass when I said that. Seems the links aren't loading up cause the site we're linking them from is getting hammered. lol
To be honest, I was surprised as well. I thought making the system so small would raise the need for an external power brick. PS3 has definitely come a long way in the 3 years its been out.
I really hope this comes with component/hdmi cables. If I recall correctly; older PS3 models dont?
All PS3 models released still supply composite only last I checked, which is a major oversight on Sony's part.
Think they reduced the weight of the Slim much? I know the PS3 isn't "omg Xbox1" heavy, but it's still a beast.....which is probably the only reason I feel safe having this model stand vertically without extra support.
Now if only Microsoft would get a slim version of the 360!
With a $300 price point for the new Slim, I don't think my 360 is going to be lonely any more... guess I'll be picking one of these up before the holiday season. It's good to see that they're finally able to get the price to a reasonable place, $400/$500 was way too much.
I don't see why people still complain about these systems not coming out with HDMI cables, especially with something like monoprice.com existing.
For only $2.67 each when QTY 50+ purchased - High Speed HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Cable 28AWG - 6ft w/Ferrite Cores (Gold Plated Connectors) - WHITE | 28AWG HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Male to Male Cables
ebay is also good for these things, surprisingly DVI to HDMI cables work with PS3. I use mine on a 19" and get full 1080p instead of buying an overpriced HDTV.
For convenience sakes. I'm fully aware that you can get HDMI cables for 3 dollars, which is why I don't get how its not just thrown into the package. I don't want to wait a few extra days just to play in HD.
What I need to do is get an HDMI input box or splitter... That way I can have both the 360 and PS3 using the same input on my monitor.
After examining those pictures I've realized one thing... Wheres the HDD slot? Did they get rid of the expandable memory? :O
also 360's dont come with component or hdmi cables anymore either for those of you paying attention ;p
Wait...
What? That's terrible newsRemoval of “Install Other OS” feature
The new PS3 system will focus on delivering games and other entertainment content, and users will not be able to install other Operating Systems to the new PS3 system.
Along with a vast line-up of attractive and exciting entertainment content with the new PS3 system, SCE will continue to further expand the PS3 platform and create a new world of computer entertainment.
Also no more non-PS HDD's are going to be able to get used? Seems not
