Okay thanks for the info. I was curious if it would lose support similar to how the PS2 Slim lost it's HDD support. And since I backup my memory cards on my HDD... yeah...
OMFG all this damn hype... now I have to buy one at launch. I hate Sony! They are gonna rape my damn wallet.
Nah thankfully they could never do something like that because some games (like MGS4) actually make it mandatory to install. I think skate 2 also does this, but I don't really mind if it improves overall game performance. This 120GB PS3 though... day fucking one.
250gb model rumored to be announced at TGS now... lol. It never ends.
Sony sneaks PS3 Slim through FCC under pseudonym, 250GB model discovered
I love the ending to that IGN video, it's what pretty much sold me. Might upgrade mine to 500GB depending on what I can score black friday.
Here's to hoping for a party mode being added to XMB 3.0 to accomodate all the new BGers I'll be adding to my friend list soon thanks to the Slim.
While I don't own a PS3 yet, but I might have to pick one up depending if my PC can handle FFXIV, do you think it's possible for a slim PS2 to be plopped on top of the new slim PS3? I don't have enough room in my entertainment center for a PS3 and finding a PS3 w/the EE chip is going to be a complete pain in the arse. =/
From the looks of the pictures... the top of the slim is curved a little so no.
Ya it's not really a good idea to use closed cabinets either for the new systems. Even old DVD players and such tended have a lot more issues if you shoved them into a closed cabinet stacked together with surround sound system, digital TV box, etc.
It's good to know that the new slim you can still swap in a regular laptop HDD.
what do you think?
I don't know why people are so up in arms over how it looks. People cried and cried (not you, but people) for a lower price point, and when they get it they're dismayed that Sony went for a less expensive casing solution. What did they think was going to happen?
Who cares how the thing looks so well as it functions properly?
Little worried they're gonna kill off quality to reduce the size lol. =(
Wouldn't be the first time.
As long as it has the same functions and life span as a normal PS3, I'll be all for buying one. If they do what they did with their other 2 "slim" models, I'm probably just going to avoid it.
