I think the wise answer would be to wait until at least open beta for potential tweaking, price drops and newer cards.
Pretty much the same as me. The framerate was a little less than I was expecting, but it was capped at 30, so I guess I shouldn't be too worried.
The slower character creation screen really scared me, I got my new system almost entirely for this game and the sluggish pointer and long initial load times made me feel like I should have held out for a better system. Once I got into the game, it got a little better performance-wise, but the number of characters seem to slow me down a bit. Once I got out of the starting area, the number of characters seemed to matter less...
Core 2 Duo 2.2, 4GB RAM, Geforce GT 130M, Win7.
When the game hits retail, I'm pretty certain I'll be able to run it smoothly.
I seemed to run pretty smooth on my i5 750 (stock clock) with ati 5770.
Was hard to tell at times as the connection icon kept going 'yellow' so hard to say if some of the slow downs was caused by latency issues.
Load time on the cs was pretty long (likely less than a min) at times but I had assumed that was hdd access.
The ATI Radeon HD 5850 is a beast of a card is goes for about 320

Between wanting something portable because of limited space at home, as well as having something for school, I am looking at buying a new laptop in the very near future.
Because anything will serve its purpose for school, I am looking for something that will handle games that I plan to play in the near future. By games, I mean FFXIV. I am looking for a "gaming" laptop, and Alienware or Dell XPS is what comes to mind.
Because I've always sort of wanted an Alienware, this is what I've found that seems interesting.
Option 1 (cheaper, smaller):
Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo SU7300 (1.3GHz, 800 MHz, 3 MB)
8GB DDR313 - 800MHz
1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 335M
Mobile Intel® GS45 Chipset
(other irrelevant stuff)
Option 2 (more expensive, more options):
Processor:
* Intel® CoreTM i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
* Intel® CoreTM i7 820QM 1.73GHz(3.06GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB Cache)
* Intel® CoreTM i7 920XM 2.0GHz (3.2GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB Cache)
* Intel® CoreTM i7 620M 2.66GHz (3.33GHz Turbo Mode, 4MB Cache)
* Intel® CoreTM i5 540M 2.53GHz (3.06GHz Turbo Mode, 3MB Cache)
* Intel® CoreTM i5 430M 2.26GHz (2.53GHz Turbo Mode, 3MB Cache)
* Intel® CoreTM i3 330M 2.13GHz (3MB Cache)
Video:
* 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 240M2
* 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M2
Ram:
2GB, 3GB, 4GB, 8GB DDR33 - 1066MHz and 1333Mhz
Option 3 (Dell XPS stuff):
Intel® Core™ i5-430M (2.26GHz, 4Threads, turbo boost up to 2.53Ghz, 3M cache)
OR
Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Quad Core Processor 1.6GHz (2.8GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
ATI Mobility RADEON® HD 4670 – 1GB
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 OR 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz
Given these options, based on Alpha preliminary information, what is likely going to be my best bet here? Price likely won't be a huge deal, the first two options start at 899 and 1499 respectively, whereas the 3rd options is between 1099-1299. I'd prefer to go the cheaper route, the $899 system or the 1099 systems are what appeal to me the most.
Any help would be appreciated, but no "just get a desktop cause you can upgrade" etc. I need to be with a laptop.
Asus makes some laptops with nice video cards for a pretty good price, such as this one.
You can also check out something like this, which includes a Mobility 5850. There are other options on that site as well.
What size are you looking for? It can be difficult to find a good match of price, screen size and resolution, GPU and processor speed, RAM, weight, battery life, and build quality. Shopping for laptops is annoying heh.
You guys think asus G73JH will run this? Planing to pick one up today.
I'd personally go with an Asus laptop with Nvidia Optimus in it. But that's only because I don't always have an outlet handy![]()
If you absolutely must have a gaming laptop instead of a gaming desktop, can't go wrong with most of the higher end ASUS models.
at the moment i think we all should wait as the market will have big changes like six cores cpus and new features for motherboards etc you don't want to buy new pc with already outdated components.
the game is still far from release![]()
Biggest reason I am looking now is because I likely won't have the money when release happens ;P
But Asus seems to be a good place to look so far.
Too bad they dont have Laptop PS3s.
Closest we'll every get probably.

It's really not so bad, because unlike the 360, the PSU is built into the console itself so you're not carrying around another brick![]()

Haters gonna hate.
