Pretty sure you can get a lot better for similar price.

But CPU just about passes min req. However I doubt the card(s) do even in CF.

He would need to upgrade the video card for sure.

You could get by on low resolution if you overclock a Radeon 4000 series.

Radeon HD 5700 series is a great investment for the budget range. Cool, quiet and are easy to overclock using the catalyst software. With the 5770 HD, I was able to overclock to 940MHz Freq w/ 1400MHz clocks while keeping the Temperature to an acceptable 50C. It can go higher but that seemed to be the card's G-spot in smooth graphics while using the benchmark to watch performance changes. Now the score read 2760 High Def with no graphics stutter.

I recently purchased an Athlon II 64 x4 2.9 GHz with a Biostar Mobo from Tigerdirect for a great deal too. I would check there and see if you can find something nice as well while still keeping within your budget.

Quick hardware question and sorry if it has been answered already.

What's the minimum specs for AMD processor and minimum Nvideo or ATI cards to run 14?

    Spoiler: show

Ok so I just put my new pc together, but when I turn it on my monitor says it's getting no signal. Any ideas what could cause or fix that?

/sigh, you'll need to include a lot more than that to get a viable answer.

What type of input are you using?

Are you trying to use a monitor or tv and if it supports more than one input is it set to the right input?

is the videocard supported by the motherboard / on the motherboard and drivers are updated to work with the OS in use.

Questions like these you should ask yourself.

Did you select the correct video input on your monitor?

    Tiger Direct, hah.
I'm just looking for a pre built computer under 600$ That would run FF14 pretty decent.
Anyone know of any deals atm?

Can it play 14? And if it can, how do you think it will run? I am solely looking for a cheep pc that will only be used to play this game. Anyone got any ideas if this isn't that great?
I currently run a AMD 64 X2 6400+ with a geforce 9600GT video card and I get a 1400 on the bench march and the benchmark plays choppy and takes a LONG time to load between scenes. Just and FYI for you.

I assume Quad core is the best option to go with?

I spent about 630 for my new pc parts and sold my old rig parts on ebay the past week for about 260 dollars. Basically spent $370 on a gtx460/phenom 965/some top ass am3 mobo/4 gigs ddr3 ripjaw/1tb HD. Life is good.]

For the love of god don't pay 600 bucks for a prebuilt

Out of curiosity and because I'm either blind or the topic with the benchmark scores is completely removed, how much did you score with that setup? I have the same CPU and GPU for my new PC, just waiting for the mobo to arrive so I can put it together.

    You're doing something wrong.

AMD Athlon X2-64 5000+ Black Edition @ 3.0ghz (stock volt)
    4GB A-Data Dual-Channel 800mhz/PC6400
4GB Patriot XT (Readyboost) - Not sure if this benefits the bench in anyway.
    EVGA 9600GT 512MB (Not overclocked)
    500GB WD Caviar 7200 RPM
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
    Latest Nvidia drivers/DX9 runtimes.

2300 low easy, could probably go higher with optimization. No chop on bench.

Benchmark thread got moved to FFXIV: Media

I'll estimate around 5.5~6k on low with sufficient OC/optimised drivers on that though.

I apologize if this is a dumb question as this is the first time I've installed a new video card for my PC. I just got my ATI radeon 5780 in today and I'm trying to install it. I know where it goes but I need to connect it to my power supply. I know what the power supply is and it doesn't have any connectors. Does this mean my card isn't compatible or is it a case where i actually have to open the power supply to connect the provided cables that came with the video card?

I've located 1 6-pin connector that was hidden but I still need to connect one more.

albeit not the best solution, but your videocard should of came with this adapter.

(4 pin internal power -> 6 pin PCI Express power)

Edit: All I received was 2 6-pin connectors and a cross fire connector

Edit Again: Since I only have one 6-pin connector from my power supply would this dual y-split 6-pin connector do the job?

hmmm odd. maybe i need to do a reformat and try again. Its been awhile since i did a reformat and cleaned up all the junk. Thank you for the info.

I am rebuilding this system but if i can keep it working longer i can save longer for a better one.

Found out more info on my mobo:

    Type: L2 cache
    Installed Size: 2 MB
    Cache Per Processor: 2 MB ( 2 x 1 MB )
    Chipset: AMD 780G

It's possible to upgrade it to Phenom II 910 or 810 because motherboard has a limitation. Also found this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...IN#detailspecs

I am not computer savvy and realize this is one of those "Will this run 14" questions, but any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
