I really hope so, but I'm not holding my breath. There was an interview from a long time ago where they said they would use the most advanced version of DirectX available at the time of launch, so I'm a little disappointed that they aren't using 11 now. For a company that wants to position their game at forefront of graphics, and wants it to be some time down the road before lower-end computers can run it well, it seems like a glaring omission. I don't know how difficult it would be to add this in later, but hopefully it will happen eventually.
Was on 258.56, but ill try updating to that and see if it makes a difference.
4213 second time around, the numbers just fluctuating around i guess?
Oh yeah 3.4 is stock for that isn't it. Well the 965 has unlocked multiplier so you can crank it up easily in the bios. I am not familiar with safe temps and voltages for the 965 though so I would suggest looking through some of the threads about the 965 on http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/
The difference between our scores is probably the cpu northbridge + random variance of this benchmark. My clock speeds were also ~3.43ghz.
oh, where did your post go @_@??
I have a similar, lower spec'd, version of your rig:
AMD 955 @ 3.2 (Slightly OC'd to 3.5)
GTX 260
OZC 4GB DDR3 @ 1333
BFG PSU 550W
Biostar 890GXB
Win 7 64Bit
On low I average 4300. Not able to test on high due to 720 HDTV. I did use the Tune Up software to place all my windows graphical setting to best performance, this in turn seemed to free up some resources and boosted my score almost 250 points. All my hardware has been updated with the most recent drivers. Thought I might share this with you to give you some additional reference. Good luck!
Will this run it ok?
Acer Aspire AS7552G-5488 Notebook - AMD Phenom II Quad-Core N930 2.0GHz, 17.3" HD 1600x900, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, ATI RADEON HD 5650 1GB, DVD-writer, Wireless BGN, Gb LAN, Webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Will this run it OK?

Spoiler: show
I was able to run the game, long loading a bit of lag, and on the lowest of low settings. anything higher and i would lag out.
Not bothered going through every post but I assume people are in here to see what will play it so:
My old rig played Alpha (just about) but was a bit of a laggy mess:
Dual-Core 3.6Ghz
4GB DDR2-800 RAM
8800GTS (SLI but that didn't help)
SATA II HDD
Win 7 x64
Benchmarks ~2k high, ~3k Low
Just about playable on medium/low settings (*just*).
New rig:
AMD 1090T hexacore (no overclock)
8GB DDR3 (overkill for this, game will only read ~2-3GB)
ATI 5850 TOXIC 2GB (again, probably more than needed)
SATA III HDD (WD caviar black)
Win 7 x64
Benchmarks ~4k high, ~5k Low (would do more if I bothered to OC at all)
Plays smooth as silk (min 40fps) even in town. If there's any lag, it's due to fail servers or net connection.
If people reading this still want to know what to build or buy:
Any quad core CPU
4GB decent RAM
5770, 5830, 5850 (not sure about the Nvidia cards at the moment)
Decent HDD (preforably one just for FF install)
Win7 x64
That will play medium to high fine, especially seeing as the release version of the game should be more optimized than the current Beta build.
mobile/laptop counterparts generally suck. I wouldn't like to guess the ratio of suck for mobile vs desktop, but my 8800M GTS was soooo much weaker than my 8800GTS. If you are wanting to play on a laptop you are going to have to accept not playing on max spec and get a beefy as hell laptop. I'm guessing you'd be looking at a Mobility Radeon HD 5870, i'm not sure a 5850 would cut it.
For the record, I tried last night on my Dell Studio 15, i7 quad 1.66GHz, 4GB RAM, Radeon HD 4570, Win7, and got a score of 650. Game was unplayable unless the graphics were turned down to Commodore 64 levels, and even then it lagged like hell.
I'm going to wait until I replace the laptop at the end of year before I purchase the game. Probably go with an Alienware or similar at that point.
3dmark scores
8800M GTS 8300
8800 GTS 15128
(half the power)
Mobility Radeon HD 5870
Radeon HD 5870 23640
(20%.... really?! o.O)
