    You have to have a bnet account to use one afaik.

    thanks for the info, I just bought one. My friend got his acct hacked a bunch of times recently so I figure this is a great buy for only $6.50

    Well, if it is then it was changed recently. I had one a while ago without a bnet account.

    There are two types of authenticators

    The physical one you buy for $6.50 is for b.net or normal wow accounts.

    The mobile one for iPhone, iPod, and other phones is for b.net accounts only.
