    Wireless Keyboard / Mouse Combo

I don't understand why these are so hard to find, or even exist but I'm looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse combo that both use the same method of charging via usb or docking station.

I don't even have any preference over mouse type or keyboard type. I just want something that's wireless and doesn't use batteries.

Is there a particular reason why you're averse to batteries? I think a major reason you don't see many with charging stations (other than that it sort of messes with the wireless aspect) is that battery life for normal use is generally rather good.

I'm not entirely against them, I just don't see the point of them when compared to something like the Microsoft Sidewinder X8 which can charge via an attachable usb cable. wireless or wired essentially. The dilemma is that both my keyboard and mouse died last night...lol...so I was curious if such a thing existed.

MS makes at least one, but the MSRP on it is $300...and I suspect the main reason they actually make the keyboard rechargeable is because it's backlit. That'd also be my suspicion on some of the mice, that perhaps it's due to putting in higher drain features in 'em versus basic functionality.

From what I've seen at work, and from my living room PC, you can usually expect a battery life in term of months from more pedestrian wireless setups. So it's come more down to what sort of peripherals you're looking for, IMO.

My Sidewinder X8 (rechargeable) doesn't get a very long battery life imo, maybe 2-3 days of solid play. Whereas my microsoft intellimouse 2.0 would last for months on the same non recharble battery.

Can't help you on the wireless keyboard but Logitech makes the G7 which is a great gaming mouse and uses a proprietary battery. The usb receiver IS the charging station and it comes with two battery packs so one is always in the charger ready to go.

Sorry about the url, don't have 10 posts yet.

Can't help you with links, but I can say I've been very happy with Energizer 15 minute rechargable batteries. I have enough of them ($12 for 4 pack of batts) to keep at least 4 fully charged at all times. That way when my mouse dies I simply load the mouse up with charged ones and put the dead ones on the charger. I'm not sure if it'd be more feasible for you to spend 50$ on rechargable batteries that will last you years and a different mouse/keyboard set, or a mouse/keyboard set that charges, upto you.
