Landscapes of Vana'diel

I thought people might enjoy these- scenery that caught my eye (I tend to gravitate towards sunsets and sunrises.) No Photoshop or anything, just plain screenshots.

Jesus Christ, that was such a rude comment.

As a production artist myself, I feel that the majority of of FFXI art direction is pretty much outdated, however, WotG brings new life with it's gorgeous color palette. Although they're not completely original, it is a way of bypassing the PS2 limitations. Take note of the subtle details in the sky in each of the WotG zones. You will see that each zone has it's own color and feel to it, rather than just coloring "as is" from Zilart, etc.

This is probably gonna look like a pathetic attempt at

, but since I feel like a huge dick (rightfully so) I'd like to apologize for the unsolicited comment. I do have the opinion that the screenshots could go farther with some extra enhancement but it didn't really give me a right to shit on the artistic vision that was presented in them.

Edit: Ok, it's bugging the hell out of me. How do some of you get such nice looking screenshots. An example being Bockage's shots. Is it something to do with FFXI's resolution?
