I like the new race name. It sounds like a lot more fun to say than "Hume" or "Galka".
I'm still going to address any JP Lalafells as "tabemono-san." That is, if JP and NA servers are shared.
hey brp remember that one time i made a thread and you got banned in it
that was a good thread huh
More NPC names:
Guillaurdmand de Padellaint, wrote the book(?) The Determination of Being
The lalafell mentioned before Jarariku Nanariku was a traveler.
Pandelion Brontard seems to be some sort of official. Was at a Allied Council meeting.
Those landscape pictures are gorgeous.
Taking away the nose from Mi'qote really messes up their looks. Hyur are the new hotties.
Also, in Japan Lalafell are Raraferr.
Also, it's incredible that there's a canvas in Gridania above even Castles.
In a PIG'S EYE! I <3 the model they show so much (maybe 'cause it looks like someone I know XD)
Seriously though the best part was that for both the Rogadyn (or w/e it is) and the Miqo'te, it mentions nothing of them being gender-specific. So, until I hear/see otherwise from SE I'm going to keep hoping for a Male Miqo'te Moon Keeper!
The main city locations look awsome from the concept art - Limsa Lominsa moreso than the others but still. Excitement level increasing x_x;
I think it's a thatched roof.
I was talking about how it's incredible the trees are so fantastically tall they form a canvas, like in the Jungle.
Wow.. it seems like the EN site is actually more informative than the JP one for once.. altho the JP site does look.. prettier..
then again we didnt get a famitsu interview, or any major magazine coverage.
I can see XIV is firmly starting from its foundations with systems not unlike those introduced in ToA for FFXI. The guildleve system is probably a more unrestrictive approach to the assault/campaign ops system... You play the way you want, but this is worked into the general quest system as a whole.
Aetheryte's are pretty much runic portals from (and I suppose to) all nations.
The 4 disciplines pretty much combine the job system with crafting and helm, then recategorizing them and assigning each of the 4 with specific weapons and tools that determine which role you take on.
From the story of Leeroy (lol of all names), it seems like you will be able to grind in some fashion to make your class/profession/skill more powerful/better/advanced, but probably without involving Lvs or EXP. This is one thing I do look forward to cos it will probably mean the game would be less repetitive.. and there isnt necessarily a beaten path to travel on anymore.
Anyway, on the races.. the world/race backstory is pretty cool. I'm already hyped to go live in Limsa-Lominsa instead of the other 2 places.. I love sea-side locales..
And I find it interesting how they bother to mention each racing having 2 clans..
My guess is that you can only join the clan that is preset with being 'good'?, and that the other clan may lean towards dealing with the antagonists of the story..
as of yet, there is no main antagonist revealed, not even baddies other than mention of the metal-clad warriors.. so I'm guessing it might be a more humanistic kind of battle of people vs people, rather than with beasts only.. or a mix in between...
like, perhaps each race has its 'antagonist faction'... considering they've already labeled at least 1 faction from pretty much each side... i'm guessing the possibility of...
Duskwight Elezen, Highlander Hyur, Hellsguard Roegadyn and Keepers of the Moon Miqo'te..
alternatively, it could be some new clan system thing that requires you to pick a side if you wish to undertake certain quests/gameplay aspects... its a huge question mark without much info.. but i'm just glad they released something officially in English..
also, yay 12 gods.
