Just got a SE email with a few ads for their new games.
One of the panels is for FFXIV and says the site has been updated.....but I don't see anything new. Am i missing something?
I signed up, but never got any email :/ Going to sign up again I guess.
EDIT:"That email address has already been registered"
Wonder why you got something but I didn't. Are you sure its from the official site?
I didn't get an email until a day or two after the site was updated the first time, and even then, it was in my junk mail folder.
I signed up a long bit ago but never got anything. Also heard about some SE hack so I guess I would've been hesitant anyway.
I also recieved it and I see nothing new. URL below. Ahh, I can't post urls yet.

As others have mentioned in other areas, SE does look at human behavior when designing things. So they probably had some starting conditions looking a bit like this.
- The game is based on a conflict.
- The antagonists can't be in regular armies because they're too regulated.
- If everybody has the same abilities, most will follow the same path.
So you have a small number of slightly different starter types with slightly different abilities. Twelve would be too many, two would be too few. So 4-8 probably works. The characters have to have freedom to operate, so putting them in a regular army isn't going to work, so you get a mercenary force.
SE could simply have made rabble A vs. rabble B, but that would end up kinda samey. The multiple starter cities and jockeying for position and advantage adds to the game.
It ends up looking a lot like FFXI because you only have so many options to engage people.
However, we do not have much, if any, of the back story and that is where the fun begins.
Which would be amusing as heck. World finally folds in on itself as the Emptiness swallows everything, leaving only the original crystal shards, which in turn are forced back together in the "black hole" that results and hit critical mass in the resulting fusion.
Big bang happens. Welcome to primordial Eorzea.
Bumping this thread instead of making a new one. New stuff added on the website again.
Looks to be a bestiary (beastiary site has it both ways), Includes mob name descritpion and potential drops
Ahriman, Antelope, Cactaur, Aldgoat, Mammet, Morbol, Ogre, Opo-opo, Puk, Raptors
A little section on a day in the life of a crafter. Did anyone else read it as the cooks are able to modify the recipes? There's also a new picture of a smither crafting in game for a miqo'te with 2 words in her name.
Edit: If anyone comes across some Hi-res copies of the new pictures posted on the site I would love to have some of them.
There's some new info on the new classes as well, archer and lancer in the disciple of war section and now all 5 classes in disciple of hand have info.
Fuck yes. As stated on the site the most well adapted Archers(RNGs bitches) are Elezen mofuckas just like in XI here I come Elezen Archer baby!
Discriptions of deciples added as well with the addition of subclasses. ATM Disciples of War subclasses and Disciples of the Hand subclasses have been added.
very nice imo.
EDIT: beaten
and i approve of the new music on the site. better than the old
They mention a miqote with the last name of Mihgo.
I am excited.
One other thing I noted while looking at the updated Armoury description where they talk about Leeroy is that it seems that you can major in many different crafts...Or perhaps there will be a limit as in XI on how far you can advance in each said craft. But here's hoping for being able to max them all out!
Also it would only make sense where as they described people should be able to play the game solely as crafters but one would think it would be fairly obtainable to max out one said craft fairly quickly which to me opens up the possibility of being able to max or at least have expanded array of crafting variety unlike XI.
Very excited about all this as well. Looks like my second MMORPG will be yet another Final Fantasy, haha.
<3 Archer.
