Had an ex try to talk me into waxing. That sure went well.
Had an ex try to talk me into waxing. That sure went well.
i've used that smooth-away thing because i can't use a razor on my legs or they'll break out into bumps (I wax them instead now) and not only does it not really do that, it FUCKING HURTS -- it does feel like sandpaper imo
Fuck it, I'm still gonna pick it up and try it.
but there's really no way to get around the hoohaa itch if you're bic-razoring it off -- you can try to put a little Sarna on it, but honestly it's pretty unavoidable. Just wax it. They make analgesic lotions you can put on it beforehand to make it less painful to wax it.
that pad thing seems interesting though
I think back to 40-year old virgin, and that pretty much sums up how I think about wax.
it's literally 5 seconds of pain -- don't get why you'd want to sandpaper your skin instead, that's more painful overall
And wtf at waxing a unibrow? you're supposed to pluck that shit before it gets waxable <_< daily maintenance? I never had a unibrow problem but I do my eyebrows every other day or so to keep up -- if you do it a little at a time it's easier instead of just saving it for one day where you have to break out a fucking machete
I get my eyebrows waxed every so often... never found it to be that bad. Only part that stings for me is the part between my eyebrows. But PAIN IS BEAUTY
Well they make shit that makes it hurt less. You put the lotion on like 15 minutes before the waxing, and it basically takes most of the pain away.
Also:
And iirc, you don't wanna do it near when you ovulate or during PMSThe good news is you can actually control and lesson the pain. You might want to experiment with one or more of these 14 techniques:
- Waxing does hurt less the second time around. If you don’t wait to long, the second time around will be shorter, thinner and sparser because they are not fully matured. This makes it a little less painful and will usually take less time.
- Make sure the hair to be waxed is at least a quarter of an inch long so the wax can grip it. But make sure it’s not too long – waxing long hair is more uncomfortable and can lead to tearing the skin.
- Avoid caffeine, nicotine and sugar for at least two hours prior to treatment as these will increase your sensitivity
- A bikini wax is not something you should undertake at home; it’s definitely a salon procedure. You’ll never be able to reach all the spots and crevices a professional can, and it’ll be more painful for you.
- If you have time prior to your appointment, please have a WARM shower to open the pores up a little. Don’t have a very hot bath or shower before or after the treatment, as too much heat on sensitive areas can lead to soreness.
- Don’t wax when you’ve got your period as your skin is extra sensitive around this time. Due to the extra blood flow close to the skin surface, it is often more sensitive. Try booking in on the first 10 days of your menstrual cycle when your pain threshold is slightly higher.
- Some people find a pre-wax glass of wine or a cocktail helps them to relax and dulls the pain.
- Consider taking aspirin, Tylenol, Advil or some other over-the-counter analgesic.
- Do not use self tanning lotions or moisturising creams on the day of your appointment as these form an oily barrier which inhibits the grip of the wax, and more tries with the wax strips will be required.
- When you’re in the room with your Esthetician communicate any fears or anxieties. Talking through the procedure often helps. Ask for a fan if it’s stuffy or hot. Ask for more heat if it’s chilly.
- Try to schedule treatment when you’re most likely to be relaxed and give yourself time to get to your appointment.
- In addition, there are lots of things you can do to take your mind away from any pain or discomfort your body might be experiencing. The best antidote to the pain of waxing is to try to relax. When you’re tense, the follicle closes and the wax won’t reach the root of the hair.
o Hold a towel or stuffed animal to squeeze
o Suck on mints or hard candy or chew gum
o Focus on why you’re there and the end result of your efforts
o Use breathing and visualization (think Lamaze) strategies to disassociate yourself from the procedure and any discomfort
o Bring a friend for support and distracting chit chat- Use a Tea Tree lotion, which is ideal for cooling the skin after waxing
- Use PFB Vanish - a roll on gel formulated for ingrown hairs and bumps resulting from waxing. PFB Vanish contains exfoliating and moisturizing ingredients to maximize your results.
Guilty as charged.
i figured it was just me, i feel so much better
Can't believe I never said it all this time. Correct slang for the vagina area is bajingo Ksandra!
that just made me think "strumming the banjo" would make a good metaphor for female masturbation
