Going much slower now. Haven't fished up gugrus in over a week, and buying only those fish I can find that are really cheap. I have 300k of the 800k I borrowed from my brother left over, though he has offered me the rest of his money, including that which he can get off of a 100 shell he's been saving. Probably won't borrow the rest of that money, though; I don't want to be in debt by that much.

(Edit: Spent the 300k just now, as well as another borrowed 200k; no item).

Earlier this month, had to cancel the credit card I was using for FFXI because the information got stolen. Still haven't gotten a replacement in the mail yet, and even if I get it in by the end of the month, not sure if it'll work with the new 3D security measures they've required. I'm reluctant to get another credit card just for FFXI, simply because I don't want to have to bend over backwards just to pay SE. I'm wondering if it's a blessing in disguise that I haven't gotten my ebisu recently; if I stop playing FFXI because of these credit matters, I won't feel as bad about having not gotten it than having gotten in the few days before they cancel my account.

I'm pretty frustrated, obviously.

All it tells me is that he either bots, or purchased every fish he turned in (EDIT: There is of course more options, like someone fishing them for him, or getting them via trades and things.). Not about to blow my head over it . If Cait Sith actually had sellers (I've found one every once in a while for Gugs), I'm pretty positive I would have finished this quest months ago.

However now I find myself killing the rabbits outside in West Ronfuare just to get the meat I need to make my own bait. It's a fun life lol.

Anyone on caitsith lookin to sell gugs?

So question, does the effect of apron include item like fish, like shall shells and trumpet shells?

I'll do some testing sometime, find my average trumpet shells/hour, then put on apron body and see if it changes, goes up, or down.

If it doesnt include trumpet shells and sees them as fish, then apron should be extremely useful for fishing trumpet shells as 90% of my hooks are items.

If not, then it will of course gimp it. Personally I think it sees trumpoet shells and shall shells as fish since they're listed as fish in ah, wheres rusty subligar/etc would be items as they're under armor and whatever.

There is nothing wrong with purchasing fish for it. It's just the conclusion I came to, and I'm commenting (via the picture posted) that I wouldn't blow up about it.

As I said. -IF- I had the option to just purchase gugs, I would. Turning in 20-30 a day beats turning in 8-9 if I get lucky and have the spare time. It took me a year (on and off) to get all of the Lik hooked as there was 0 on Caitsith the whole time.

Also as I said, any Ebisu is a good Ebisu.

Based on my experiences, the Apron doesn't reduce the amount of Trumpet Shells you fish up. I've gone runs where I get 10~ Shells in a row, but then junk for the next 15 minutes.

However that is the nature of fishing in an area where you also drag up the whole ocean and it's contents with the same rod/lure combo.
